Yumi's dad had been killed in a car crash a month before christmas. And now, her it was, Christmas season, and the Ishiyama family are the only ones who weren't happy about the normally joyful season.

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
she was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Mrs. Ishiyama was driving up to her parents house for Christmas, she looked it the mirrior to see both Yumi and Hiroki have fallen asleep. She felt tears built up in her eyes, this was the first Christmas that a member of the Ishiyama family would have been killed so early before.

"And if we never got into that fight it wouldn't have been that way." Mrs. Ishiyama said as she heard Yumi move her head into a softer posision with Hiroki useing her as a pillow.

She listened to the soft radio music and nearly broke into tears as her husbands favorite song came on.

"If only, I hadn't been so short tempered." Her mom said.

"There was nothing you could do." She heard Yumi say half asleep.

"I know dear, go back to sleep." She told her daughter. Yumi was fast asleep in two minutes. She keeped her eyes on the two children sleeping in the backseat without a father.

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight

As she pulled up in the driveway, she looked over at the two sleeping children again as the car came to a stop. She bowed her head.

"I wish I could have stopped him from leaveing me, from leaving Yumi and Hiroki fatherless. I could have stopped him if I was the one to leave." Mrs. Ishiyama said.

"Mommy?" Hiroki asked walking up.

"Yes?" she said.

"Is daddy in a better place?" Hiroki asked. his mom didn't awnser.

"Yeah, Hiroki." Yumi said waking up as well. "And mom was going to pray for him."

A tear ran down Yumi's face. While Hiroki started crying as well. Yumi's was a silent cry, while Hiroki's sobs filled the car.

"I love you two, you know that." Mr. Ishiyama said to the two children as a tear ran down her face followed by another,

"We know mom." Yumi said.

"Your father is still watching over you two." Their mom told them.
