I reached out and threw out my tray. "After Kaz, the life of the party, left, it became like a funeral parlor." I stated, half-sarcastically.

Oh, God, did I just say that??? Brianna gave me a funny look, and I was very thankful that my mobile rang. I had to go outside, seeing as my reception in the cafeteria was terrible. I exited, heading towards the soccer field.

"Hello?" I asked.

Emily?

"Kaz??? Where are you???"

Nevermind that, just follow my instructions. Go to the park behind the school.

{Why?} I wanted to say, but didn't. I followed where his voice was taking me, instead. "Okay, I'm there" I replied, after getting to the park.

Go into the small grove next to it.

I did just that. "Mm-Hmm."

A few yards in, you'll see a manhole--

"Uh, Kaz? You know how I feel about the underground areas..."

That was true, he was the only one, other than Bri, that knew.

Just, trust me.

I hated when people said that. It made me self-concious.

I winced as I pulled the manhole cover away. The stench wafted up, turning my wince into a cringe.

Emily?

"Yeah. I'm comin, I'm comin."

Good.

I slowly climbed down the ladder, and glanced around me hesitantly.

There's a scooter and skateboards to your  left. Skate, or scooter, until you come across the next ladder, then climb up, and enter the elevator in front of you.

"Kaz?"

Yeah?

"I'm scared."

I thought I heard a laugh, but then the line went dead. All the more reason to be scared.

I grabbed the scooter and went along at my own pace, stopping abruptly at the ladder. I scrambled up, out of the sewer. I saw the elevator, and got in. I didn't touch anything, but it automatically went down. The doors opened to a room with three pillars.

Get in one.

"Kaz? That you?"

Yeah, the one and only.

"Does anyone else know about this?"

No resposne for a moment, then, You and the Japanese girl that sat down at lunch.

"Am I the first person that has been in your class for four years that knows about this?"

Yes, but don't idle along. You need to get in a scanner.

{Okay, so they're scanners. That helps a bit.} I thought.

I chose a random scanner. "Now what?" I asked, hesitantly.

Scanner, Emily.

The brass doors closed, trapping me inside.

Transfer, Emily.

A wind from below started to pick up, levitating me off the floor below me. I scrunched my eyes shut.

Virtualization.

When I opened my eyes, I immediately looked down. My feet were dangling a few yards above the ground. As I fell,  I ended up on my buttox.

"Next time I have to fall, warn me, m'kay?" I asked, listening for a reply from Kaz.

He chuckled. Anything for you.

I couldn't tell if he was mocking me, or if he was serious.

My first reaction was looking at my body again. I wore a purple tee shirt over a green three-quarter sleeved one, a lavender skirt over green leggings, and purple mules. I reached behind me, pulling a strand of now lavender hair in front so I could take a look. {Where'd my brown hair go?} I thought.

I shuddered and ran towards the fight I heard raging. I recognized the Japanese girl automatically. "What do I do?" I asked her frantically.

The brunette boy cocked his head. "Aelita, you were just devirtualized as you were going to deactivate the tower? What happened?"

The Japanese girl sniggered, while my blood boiled. "My name is Emily. I don't know who this Aelita is!" I retorted.

The Japanese girl perked up. "Einstien?"

Nope.

She cocked her head. "Kazuya?"

はい、私はそれをしました。 彼女が私の押し合いで (Yes, I did it. She's my crush, cut me some slack!)

I didn't know what he said, but from the look the Japanese girl was giving me, I could tell I wanted to know. I shook it off.

"Go to the tower, and you should be able to do it from there." said the blond boy in the cat costume.

"Thanks, cat man!" I responded as I ran for the pillar. I phased right into it, and felt the tingling in my spine as I did so. I raced to the middle, and was pulled upwards. I took three steps, and held out a hand, palm forward.

I blinked rapidly, trying to comprehend what just happened.

Return to the past, now.

Then, my mind hit a road block, as I zoomed back a half hour in time.

I had to blink several times to contemplate what had just happened.

I knew Kaz had unveiled a new world to me-only me- and a program had activated. Now, we were at the lunch table again, only Kaz had just sat down.

Not too long after he took a seat, did the Japanese girl  appear and sit in between me and William. "Hi, Kazuya, Emily." she said.

William just cocked his head.

"Hi Yumi." Kaz and I responded in perfect harmony.

"Love birds." Andrew breathed.

Neither of us protested, for then I realized it.

I was intirely in love with him. With Kazuya.

That made a shiver creep up and down my spine.

The rest of the day went on smoothley. That wasn't because Yumi was in all of our classes, but for another reason.

It was fun to have a secret.
