“Tomorrow’s Christmas Eve.” Mr. Belpois said as Jeremie drove them all back home. The trunk full of presents that needed to be wrapped. “That means we’ve got to go to church tomorrow, doesn’t it?” Jay asked. “What, you don’t like church?” Aelita asked. “Only on Easter and Christmas do I go.” Jay said. “Do you go to church, Aelita?” Mr. Belpois asked. “Yes sir.” Aelita said. “Jeremie got me going.” “I might start going to church just to impress you.” Jay said, looking at Aelita.
“Sorry Jay.” Aelita said. “I’m taken.”
“Ah, wait a pity.” Jay said. “You’d be good in-“
“Shut up Jay.” Jeremie and Mr. Belpois said together, knowing what he was going to say.
He took their advice and was quiet the rest of the way home. Aelita helped the men carry in all the bags and took her two bags of gifts up to Jeremie’s room.
