Now then, here's a horror story for all of you sleepover campers...

CODE LYOKO AND THE BAD FANFIC

Mary-Sue Justice Crimsonheart was so happy, she was going to a new school, having just moved to France from America. Smiling happily she strode through the gates of Kadic Academy, trailing her perfect, sleek and shiny blonde hair behind her.

"Oh," she sighed, "I wish I could meet an amazing bunch of friends and fight to save the world, having this repressed warrior spirit deep within me, along with these mystic powers I was cursed with at birth."

As it happened, Mary-Sue spotted four teens running off into the woods, and instantly reeled as her mystic powers spoke to her.

"Oh," she sighed, "I sense it is my destiny to help these kids, who I have never met before, in their fight against XANA, who I mysteriously know the name of."

And so Mary-Sue followed the kids to the factory, even though there are far more worthy people to join the team, who the fans actually care about and who are believable characters, like Sissi, William, Jim, Milly or Tamiya - but since this is a bad fanfic, realistic character behaviour and development was thrown out of the window on Line 1.

Meanwhile, at the factory.

"XANA's latest scheme is far too powerful for us to defeat," Jeremie said, "he's taken control of all the happiness in the world. Now peace, truth and love will fall."

No-one questioned why XANA would do something so dumb, or why such a sappy premise even fit in with Code: Lyoko's no-nonesense sensibilities, because they were all looking at the beautiful figure who had just stepped out of the elevator.

"I can help you in Lyoko," said Mary-Sue, flicking her perfect hair with a shower of sparkly sound and light effects. Jeremie, Ulrich and Odd instantly lost their hearts to her, but Yumi and Aelita didn't mind, because they instantly felt a deep bond of friendship with this TOTAL STRANGER!

"Look," said Aelita, "the mark of Lyoko is on her hand."

"Oh that," said Mary-Sue, "that's a birthmark I've had since I was a little girl, though I don't know who I was born to as I was raised in an orphanage."

Everyone felt sad at this 'tragic story', even though they had much harder lives - after all Yumi's from a broken family, Odd and Jeremie are seperated from their parents, Ulrich's push him too hard and Aelita's parents are either dead or trapped on Lyoko. The boys wept silent tears while Yumi and Aelita hugged their new best friend.

Suddenly the voice of Franz boomed from the computer - where he came from I don't know - all I know is that I'm the awesomest author in the world and Mary-Sue is in no-way a crummy self-insert - she's the awesomest though, huh, huh?

"MARY-SUE!" Boomed Franz, "My long-lost second child! You have returned as the sixth DESTINED CHILD to save Lyoko."

OH WOW! What an amazing plot twist - I mean no-one expected that, huh, huh? Aelita burst out crying and hugged her sister, and there was much rejoicing. YAY!

At this point lesser authors would pause to develop the emotion of this already hackneyed situation, but because I am so utterly brilliant and because you all know and love Mary-Sue as if she was your sister we'll skip over anything that might redeem this story and skip to Lyoko.

Mary-Sue looked at her new form - she was dressed in a beautiful dress with white angelic wings - her eyes, shining with clarity and truth and justice and whatever other adjectives you choose to insert looked over Lyoko and knew what had to be done.

Not even waiting for the others (because she pwns them all and only she matters, NYAH!) she flew off to Sector 5, where XANA was waiting for their final showdown.

"Ah, Mary-Sue Justice Crimsonheart Lyoko-Stones-Schaeffer-Hopper," we meet at last.

"Yes," she said, "but now XANA you will fall."

And with her massive sword she sliced XANA in two, before flying off to a tower where she inputted a new code, even though only Aelita can operate the towers - DON'T YOU JUST LOVE MY AWESOME WRITING SKILLS!

CODE: DUEX EX MACHINA

And with that, a Return to the Past triggered that undid all of XANA's evil - everyone who died came back to life, Franz and his wife were reunited with their daughters, and Ulrich married Yumi and Jeremie married Aelita - Sissi went and died in a ditch somewhere and Odd started dating Mary-Sue.

No-one remembered anything though, not even the characters we know and love - except for Mary-Sue, because she was the Chosen One of Lyoko, now and forever...

THE END

(puts book down, shuddering)

That was worse than any ghost story.

(looks around campfire at white-faced, terrified faces)

I see you agree with me - well the worst is to come - look at this (holds up book and shows label)
