Here's how this works, you take any person and any situation. It can be you, a book, a movie, a play, a made up scinario, anything. Just take a person, and a scinario where there is a problem of some kind, and blame it on someone else.
For example:

(The use yourself example)
I'm not very bright and am easily angered by small things. Blame my parents.

(A book)
[Sorry, I'm not much of a reader, I couldn't think of a book]

(A movie)
I'm Anikain Skywalker. I basically killed my wife and attacked my kids. Blame Darth Sideous.

(A play)
I'm Dorothy. I ran away from home and came back during a tornado which launched me into a fairytale land. Blame the woman who wanted to kill Todo.

(Or something completely made up)
I'm George. I slipped on a bannana peel and fell down the stairs. Blame my pet monkey.
