On her way up to the guillitine, Marie Antoinette accidently stepped on the executioner's toe. Therefore, history recorded her last words as: "I'm sorry, Monsieur, it was not intentional." Put dat in your pipe and smoke it! :*D

If you insist...

E.B. White was so traumatized by the death of his fictional spider, Charlotte, when he read the book on tape, it took 19 takes to read the part where she died without his voice breaking

I'VE BEEN WATING FOR THIS THREAD FOR AGES!

Y'know why?

The character design of "Ursula" from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" was inspired by an obese drag queen- Glen "Divine" Milstead.

I'm serious. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_%28Glen_Milstead%29

Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history. Spades - King David; Clubs - Alexander the Great; Hearts - Charlemagne; and Diamonds - Julius Caesar.

And the ombu tree of Argentina has wood so moist it won't burn and so spongy it can't be cut down.

Daniel Boone detested coonskin caps.

I posted three. Because... I just did.

Oh, I can. And I WILL.

Do you know why Coca-cola is named coca-cola?

You may find the words "cocaine"(an illegal drug) and "coca-cola" alike. That's because Coca-cola actually used to have cocaine in it, until they were forced to remove the drug from their product.

In the Middle Ages, peacocks and swans were sometimes served at Christmas dinners. (Mmmm, yep, peacocks are definitely...uh, tastey!!)

In 1983 a Japanese artist Tadahiko Ogawa made a copy of the Mona Lisa completely out of toast.

The Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt, built about 2600 BC, was constructed with enough stone to make a brick wall that could go around the world 20 inches high.

Manhole covers, the lids that cover sewers, are always round. Why? The round cover rests on a lip that is smaller than the cover so it can't drop through the opening. A square or rectangular cover, no matter how it was made, could fall through.

Holy crud!
An African bullfrog doesn't know when to stop eating. It will litterally eat until it explodes. Actually, more like until it's stomach rips. It will attempt to eat other African bullfrogs that are bigger than it, even if those frogs are in the process of eating another frog!
