PHP BB Question!

I'm trying to put up custom images for the user ranks on my forum (PHPbb) and it won't show it. I put the URL in the field that says "Rank Image (Relative to phpBB2 root path):", but It just shows the box with the red square. Yes, the image is hosted on my own web site, and i tested the link to make sure it worked. It does, but it doesn't show the picture. Can you help?

Well, I'm running the forum off of a free forum host, so then what do I do? The forum isn't embedded into my site.
