You can't get a worm just by going on the internet. You have to visit a bad website, download something, and/or open an infected email to get something like that. There are other ways to get infected too, of course, but if you use your head and keep your anti-virus software updated, you should be okay. :)

Here's what you're talking about: http://money.cnn.com/2006/01/03/technology/windows_virusthreat/index.htm?cnn=yes.

Placing viruses in image files? Hackers sure are getting good...

But I really don't think we need to stay offline, especially on any particular day...Where did you hear that?
What will you remember me for?

Do you honestly think hackers would tell the media when they're gonna do the attack?

Maybe it can be a false alarm.

Anyways, at what time of today it was gonna begin the attack?

On the West Coast, it's not tomorrow yet. And since Silicon Valley - and, come to think of it, most everything dealing with coding and such - is on the West Coast...

The only thing i find wrong is the use of the word"hackers" Thanks to the early 80's media anyone causing damage to one or more computer is called a hacker, Which is so very wrong those very people are called "crackers" Because they get through any type of defence with the intent to harm, Whatever is in that area, Hackers are people who do get around a defence BUT! they then find ways to better the defence after finding that leak in that defence, Or someone who(back in the 80's) Took apart a computer and made it run more faster then the market brand....Sorry if i seems like i'm calling everyone dumb,But i'm really just telling everyone what i've learn cause i once did the same thing until a friend told me what i have just told you, Just thought you should all know. :peace:
