For me, I don't even know how to mod Guitar Hero for my PS2, so I can't explain.

They have video capture cards out there, which basically give your computer AV-in ports.

Best idea is to read the manual for info. Some hybrid players can only record either VHS or DVD, not both, Some require you to watch the recorder's input otherwise it will record only black. Also, there may input exceptions for recording.
From "channel 3" it sounds like you're using an RF cable. RCA cables are far better, I'm sure your equipmet is capable, and I know XBOX-360s come with them, so I suggest you change. Above that is S-Video, Component cables and HDMI. remember, S-Video and Component cables don't include sound, so use the same RCA cables, audio optical, or digital cables. Only Component and HDMI are capable of HD and/or progressive scan. I would like to know your set-up and inputs for optimisation, if you please.
Tangent makes a great point, I have one for my computer's TV tuner.

I don't think that many DVD players come equipped with DVD-ROM burners, so I think you're out of luck. Sorry!
I really gotta fix up this theme

Video Capture cards and things like that are hard to find for Laptops. You would need something like a PCIMCIA / ExpressCard slot for that. Unless if you have a laptop, there is one pre-included, even though i don't see many of them.

i have a little usb thing that i hook up to my computer to record off the tv. i havn't really done anything with it yet, but it seems to work. i can play Star Wars: Battlefront 2 on my computer when the tv's in use. go to your local computer store and see if they have something like that.

edit: forgot to tell you, this might set you back about $50. thats what i cost me.

TV tuner Card, of course that’s not the cheapest route to go. For some reason in the world of TV tuner cards, The Really expensive ones have great quality while the cheap $50 ones are not as good (but there much better then a web cam)

I saw an ad for these in a computer mag, I'm planning to get a pinnacle one for myself.
