I would skin it or add personal color styles to it.

if you are not good with css, html or php the easiest way to get started is

Admin panel>styles admin>management>edit/

phpBB is awesome. My site's forums used it until I took it down. Didn't know there were communities that would give you a phpBB without your own web space though...

Anyway, to skin it, you'll need to go to your admin control panel and find your way to the option that sounds most like letting you mess with the color of stuff. I'm pretty sure I actually had to edit the file for cosmetic reasons (its color variables refused to give me the look I wanted), but I can't remember for sure.

Yes this is the directory to editting currently loaded skins, Default="SubSilver"

if you know CSS PHP HTML you can modify different files like > overall header.tpl and so on to add custom grphics and stuff

Suggestions.

Postby Crazy_For_Christ. » Sat Apr 08, 2006 11:45 pm

I would suggest using Proboards to create your Forums instead. And, you can submit your Forum to the AESOP Search Engine for free.

Why Proboards and why only submit to AESOP? I dont think Proboards is the way to go, PHPbb has many more plugins and much more support

My word of the wise Proboards is not the best way to go. I use to own a board and didn't get many hits. Stick with what you have. Although I'm a huge fan now of invisionfree. It's got a good support network and the people there are nice. But like I said before stick with what you have.
