Simply put, LyokoMUSH is a purely text based Code:Lyoko based Massively Multiplayer Online RPG.

Here are just a small handful of the many features available on LM:
~All common areas like Kadic Academy, The factory, Lyoko, and more.
~Your own customizable dorm room.
~Plots tailored more towards Kadic Students rather than Lyoko Gang members.
~Custom coded communication tools such as text messages and IC emails.
~Wide open player Roleplay's separate from admin planned plots.*

To get started is very simple:

* Get yourself a MUSH client. The most commonly used client on LyokoMUSH is a program called SimpleMU.
* Find your MUSH client's connection settings and set the information as listed below:
Hostname: Lyokomush.com
Port: 4201

o For Simplemu users, here is a simple walkthrough:
o Open Simplemu and you will be greeted by a simple screen which will say 'Welcome to SimpleMU' in bright yellow.
o Open the 'File' menu and click 'New Connection Wizard'
o The next screen that pops up will ask you for something called a 'Site Address'. This is the same as the hostname posted above.
o The next screen will ask you for a port number. Once again, this is the same as the 'Port' posted above.
o The next page you can leave set to 'MUSH, MUX or MOO' and click next as LyokoMUSH falls under the 'MUSH' type.
o The next page will ask for a site name. This is up to you and will not affect anything with the MUSH. Of course most people just enter 'LyokoMUSH'.
o Click Finish and you will be connected to the LyokoMUSH server.

* First thing a new player will want to do is create a character. As noted on screen, use the command 'create <character> <password>' without the quotes or <>'s.
* At this point you will be logged in and sent through Character Generation. Just follow the directions on screen and you will be well on your way.

FYI: There is now a dedicated LM forum available for your questions to be asked and suggestions and whatnot. It can be found here. An actual front page is being developed as we speak so stay tuned for that.

Also, I should point out that we do have some canon character positions open including Aelita as a major character and some minor characters such as william, nicholas, etc.. One catch to getting the position for Aelita though is you MUST be a good roleplayer and you will have to prove this by creating your own original character and roleplaying well as him/her.

I got the SimpleMU client installed, but from there... what do I put for the create command you posted? A username? The name of the character I'll be using forever?

Oh, and I don't see a place in that forum to post questions. The only forum that would make sense to use is IC...

It's actually fairly simple. Once you are connected, just use the command 'create <character> <password>' to get started. It even lists this command in SimpleMU when you connect to the MUSH.

You missed the second half of the question. Do I enter a character name to use forever, or a username? Can I change the character name later if it's the first case?

You can use a username and change it later, but to make it easier, you should use a character name.

Yes, I must say that this is probably as close to Code Lyoko as one can get, actually getting to Roleplay with the CL Crew played by Admins. Very fun, very entertaining. And even some very fun things out of character happen too! Hope some of you give the game a try.

I would like to make this post to advertise we are currently looking for the Canon CL characters Aelita and Odd to be taken by diligent and good Roleplayers. If you wish to be one of these two star characters, you will need to do the following.

1) Join LyokoMUSH if you havent. (Links for getting started are in my Sig.)

2) Create an account and get on.

3) Contact me on Ulrich or VChat2.0 on either Chad or Jeremie once you are on the Kadic campus, telling us you wish to take the role as one of these characters.

4) Roleplay! We will monitor your RP skills and abilites, and if we believe you are up to snuff and are on enough to be the character, you will be given the right to play as Odd or Aelita.


We hope to get these positions filled soon before Season 3 starts, as we will be following the plotline 100% when it airs, and we cant do that without all the Canon characters, now can we? ^^

We hope some of you will be willing to try out, as this will be the closest one can get to Code Lyoko as possible! The more the merrier, as Kadic will need everyones help in LyokoMUSH with the "Strange events" That take place.

Just want to make update on things over the past couple of weeks:

1) A more 'complete' cellphone system has been coded/bodged together by yours truly. Not only does this include regular text messages, but can do regular phone calls as well. Along with this includes actual checking code to actually check if the recipient even has a cellphone and act accordingly. New users can pick one up at the electronics store in the plaza in town for 300 Euros.
2) More user-oriented objects such as journals/diaries and laptop's are planned to be sold in the plaza in the same fashion as the cellphones.
3) The main lm.com site is currently being worked on to a more complete state. As it stands now, all that has been added are a few game-related stats such as who's online, game time and weather, and the MOTD. More pages will be put up later on as I gather more free time.

And on a plot related note, a number of us admin's have devised some new plots to run, one of them being a re-enactment of Ghost Channel. But in order to run these and actually make them worthwhile, more players would be needed, and more importantly, would be preffered to be on around the usual 9PM EST 'wakeup' time. New players are always welcome.

OH! And I almost forgot about the dance we had. Actually turned out pretty well. The log of the night can be read here. Due to the runaway success of these, I have decided that every IC year a dance will be held on the final week of school. So come sometime in November should be the 3rd annual dance. Mark your calendars!

Update as of 8/29/o6:


We are currently getting ready for the launch of Season 3! We do intend on re-enacting each episode with more student-based interaction as the time is alotted. We hope we will get some good roleplayers and fans of Code Lyoko to join before then, so they can enjoy the same fun.

We are also currently looking for experienced roleplayers to take on the main characters Aelita and Sissi. If you wish to play as either of these, please create an account and join lyokoMUSH, and inform one of the admins that you seek one of the positions. We will test your ability, and rate you accordingly. If you do well, you will earn the part!

Come give us a try! Its loads of fun, and you have nothing to lose, and much fun to gain! If you need help with anything, as for Ulrich (me) or one of the other admins for help.

I also want to tack on to Alpha's post that the position of Jeremie is also being made available as a kind of 'handover' to whomever is eligible to take the position. Fact being im not totally capable of playing Jeremie regularly and am willing to hand him over to a more capable player. But until that player is found, I will continue to take care of the position of Jeremie like normal.

And as stated already, come try it out. Lots of fun to be had and is literally about the closest thing you will be able to get to the CL universe. Nothing to lose by joining up and trying us out.

They are an offering from myself to those LM players that request them. Generally I prefer to have the requests made as an @mail on the MUSH just to be certain said player is actually a regular player.

And as another quicky update on the MUSH, anyone who is considering joining up should do so now before the weekend starts as there is currently an admin planned plot being worked up to cover the whole weekend. Details are unknown at this point. All that is known is that its going to be loads of fun for everyone involved.

And another thing, the character Yumi is being offered up as another "handover" character, as Vchat20 so pleasantly put it. The reason for this is simply because I have found that I am not adapt at roleplaying this character to her fullest potential, nor do I have the will/time/attention span to roleplay her.

Generally speaking, those players on LyokoMUSH so far have not even bothered to inquire at all on the available positions. And for the most part, the admin's are really picky about handing over these positions to other players due to a kind of real strict 'leash' on RP ability amongst players (most of whom dont seem to have any decent RP abilities whereas just a few of us amongst the admin's are about the best roleplayers on the MUSH. Them being myself, Wanre, and Kalani specifically.).

My general advice would be go ahead and join as your own original character like mentioned above and show off your RP abilities as well as fire off an @mail to an appropriate admin about taking one of the feature character positions and things will be handled accordingly from there.
