Emotion Modification/Amplifier Program

Postby Astro-Xana » Thu Dec 21, 2006 8:03 pm

I hardly have any knowledge when it comes to science, though I find the concept of experimenting with people's emotions on a computer very interesting. Again, I hardly have any knowledge when it comes to science, but I'll explain this in terms of the little knowledge that I already possess. First off, you would have a head device that you would connect to your computer and put on your head and meditate a certain emotion and that emotion will be sent as brain impulses to your computer into a certain program where you will be able to modify these brain impulses.

Now even though this certain program is MUCH more complex than Audacity, let's compare this program to Audacity anyway. In Audacity, you have the option of modifying audio waves in many different ways. And in this certain program with these brain waves (your emotions), you can modify them as well such as amplifying them (making the emotions stronger) or even making them into whole new emotions that nobody on this planet has ever felt before by obviously modifying these brain waves.

Then once you play these brain waves (emotions), you won't hear anything, but it's as if spiritual energy is being played out of your speakers (though I highly doubt they would be played out of a simple device such as a speaker). And as they are being played, you will feel these emotions. Also, you can turn up the volume on these emotions which would result in that if you were to be close to the emotion playing device, you will feel the emotions strongest at this point just like with music in which when you are close to the speakers when the volume is up, it is loudest at that point. And take note that volume is how much space something takes up which means that if you were to turn the volume up on music, that means the audio waves will take up more space. Same thing goes with these emotions which is that the brain waves will take up more space when the volume is turned up.

Now once you're done modifying these brain waves, you can save it as a file and present this file to insensitive people who think you are without emotions and do not care about you. And as they open up this file and allow your emotions to be played on a whole new type of player, they will experience these emotions as they are being played on their emotion playing device.

Also, sick of people who do not experience the same emotions you do about certain types of music as well as AMVs? Then as you are listening to a certain type of music or watching a certain AMV that you feel very emotional over unlike anyone else, then you can focus your emotions into this certain program (which will be started up with the brain waves present while you are still watching your AMV or listening to your music on the computer). Then once you save your emotions as a file, you can actually combine these emotions with this certain type of music or video and present this piece of music or certain video again to these insensitive people who will experience your emotions as they are playing the music or the video.

Now as for if you were to amplify or modify your emotions in this certain program, you must be careful because too much amplification can be an overload (too powerful) of an emotion for one to possibly bear. And as for modifying them, you must be careful as well because you will be changing them into emotions no one has ever felt before and if people were to feel them, that could result in a disturbing effect on the person's mind.

Finally, as for this new certain program, I doubt it will be compatible with an ordinary computer meaning that it has to be in use by a supercomputer as this program is VERY powerful and cannot be used by an ordinary computer. Also, advanced use of this program will likely to happen as well such as a satellite transmitting emotions (brain waves) instead of radio waves and such all over the world! In other words, people's spiritual energy (modified or amplified through this program) will be present everywhere on this planet!

(NOTE: this is obviously science fiction, of course. But it does pertain to artificial intelligence with androids having minds of their own as well as their own emotions and the process of how they would obtain them).

Well, I don't think you could broadcast brain waves from even a speaker type device, since the brain works at such a minute scale that any waves passing through it tend to affect all nearby parts equally. If one precisely targeted low-power energy beams, one could possibly stimulate sections of the brain, but that would be more practically done with a another helmet device. I think they can already stimulate sections of the brain and trigger emotions, but I'm not sure. There would definately be ethical questions to any non-medical uses, though. In any case, I think an modern computer could handle this well enough- stimulating a section of the brain isn't that complicated.

Still, if you want to trigger emotions on a large scale, just play intense music. Bohemian Rhapsody?
(yeah, the cool links in my old sig died. :( A few nerdy newish projects are here. )

Good point. Emotions can be targeted indirectly.
thank you all for the good memories <3
