What should we do? The articles are certainly substansial enough to remain independant, no? In fact, I was just starting to write a fanfic, and was going to use these for reference!

Why not take backups of these and post them in your wiki, Taelia?

I am honestly getting tired of the way Wikipedia is treating Code Lyoko. I always found the articles to be faily well written and I use them occasionally as reference for my fanfic. As for the citing sources, wouldn't the sources be the episodes from the TV show (which it does say in several parts 'in the episode "The Key"' or something to that effect). If that doesn't qualify couldn't they always link to a site like codelyoko.fr or something. Granted I'm not completely sure how Wikipedia works, but couldn't doing something like that work?

This is rediculous. You know, there's a reason that wikipedia is not accepted at most schools because it doesn't cite it's references. You can't put that large a site under the same policy, and expect it to be followed. It just so happens that most of what is put forth on Code Lyoko news is done through various "questionable, but confirmed" sources which at times have no doumentation on the internet. It's the way the fanbse is, translmitting info through a flash website that doesn't allow links like those needed for Wikipedia, through forums and fansites which have links to the show (Wow, a fanbase that has creators that actually will COMMUNICATE with them, wow... *dur*) and universal opinions (Which you can't do for CL, since it is written as a kid's show, and thus can't get to deep, so you can't get too far into solid, intimate charachter development. In addition, since the clostest thing to a citable resourece ould most likely be from coldelyoko.fr, we have to translate that OURSELVES here, and it's posted on the Wiki.

However, since this is the main hub for Code Lyoko Information, that means that logically, all the small details of the charachters would be put here, and I think that's where the problem is. Do we really need to know that Jim has an alarm clock on a nightstand by his bed? Do we need to know that Sissi has heart shaped hair clips, but only on certain clips, and wears no socks in the fourth season? Perhaps if we used that fanbase to get more than one writer on there, we could get some resources from that.

There's still the question of size. I think that nitpicking every little thing about a charachter, while fasinating, might not be the best thing, and deserves it's own private site that can be referenced on the Wiki, solving the problems. There's just so many little facts in the paragraphs, like how Yumi uses gymnastics in a ten second scene to flip a creeper over, neither saying what a creeper is, nor a key. Also, it could be the trivial categories that only have a few articles, such as Fictional Penchak Silat charachters, Fictional Dancers (Which I don't see any of in this series...) and Fictional people who can fly. While the articles are very well, erm, researched,d, and about as thorough as you can get, they seem to be a bit too thorough for the site.

For example, if I'm new to th Code lyoko Universe, and want to find out a bit more about one charachter, then I could look on the Wiki for a general view of that acharacter. However, having lumps of this raw information with little connection to each other would only confuze a new perosn who oly wants a general overview, and might want to look at all that stuff later. So, we could either have a rough overview of the charachter, (Possibly by another person, to avoid contamination [I don't mean it like that, I really don't. It was the best word I could think of) or create another independant site that could be sited.

I think these poeple need to remember that Wikipedia was not only created as a portal entry for more resources, but a primary source for things that might need to be looked up by any casual person, but wouldn't need to be needing every little thing. And orf course, if something like a large portal is needed, then it's created. That's where the real issue is coming up here, this is now large enough to become a portal, but no doors are actually leading anywhere.

Well, eventually we'll fix that, I hope. ^^ In fact, I wrote most of that lower portion where it talks about his various forms, Ya know that? the last time I worked on it I was actually logged in, with the name 'rojorulet' too. I added the segment about his most recent rendevous as a giant white ball.
