I am some how sad to say that teklinks is now no longer with us it is in a very special place now and even though I idn't like it o much I am still mad about. I just want to give my apologies to all the Tek Liks members here on Lyoko Freak. I regret what I said in he past. I have one quick qustion too. With teklinks down will there be a Lyoko Freak around since if it was't for teklinks you guys might not be here.

I'd like to say a few words.

Techlinks was a very awesome forum.
It had a Youtube like site full Code Lyoko and since it was not blocked from my school. I can enjoy the "Show Of The Century" from my school.

Now, it's gone. Disappeared all because of this stupid poser, Hikaru.

She's public enemy number 1 on my list tied with Osama Bin Ladin.
Hikaru must die....

Although I got in trouble a few times for impersonating a mod and spamming also Necroposting from WartonChan. I'd like to thank WartonChan cause if I didn't get in trouble there. I could have done it here and get myself banned.

I've only signed up for Teklinks ever since last year.
Although I'd still like to thank everyone who made Techlinks happen for such a great experience.

Today, I will make a shirt and wear it to school on Monday saying R.I.P Techlinks cause that site will never be forgotten.

Now, where shall I download the episodes.

Anyways, once again. Thank you Techlinks for such a wonder year for me. I havent met too many people but it was great.
And for Hikaru: Please burn in h*ll for taking away such a good privilage.

Anyway, I'm going to go down on the record as being neutral either way. Yes Techlinks is gone and I know it's a nasty business involved in its removal but then... while I WAS a member, I never downloaded anything (couldn't even if I wanted to), and I was ignored there 90% of the time anyway. So there's a little part of me that's going "I can't believe TL is gone! Wtf??" but most of me is going "...Okay then?"

It was a site. A collection of data online, and only one of many hubs for people to talk and chat. I can understand getting miffed, or upset, but blowing a blood vessel over it? (Not specifically talking here so far, I'm talking reactions I've seen in a few other places.) That I just...don't understand. There are OTHER solutions to fill in the purpose TL had, including the actual forum aspect, and the episode-watching/getting.



And now, I'm going to play Big Bag Admin. I want everyone to do me a favor, 'kay? Please watch your responses in this. No badmouthing (of Warton, Hikaru, or anyone), no flying off the handle (I hope you LF members are better than that), and just no general negative behavior. Yes Techlinks is gone and LF, and the CL community is feeling it, but I'd hope no bad behavior goes with that.

Again, my warning there is probably a little out of place, but I'm putting it out there anyway.

Anyway, I've been looking for subtitled Code Lyoko episodes, and I just today found out about Teklinks. Imagine my surprise when I found out that it just got shutdown. Such bad luck! T_T

You could try looking around YouTube if you miss an episode, but you've gotta do it the day it comes out, because it'll get deleted quickly. That's how I saw Avatar's first episode of Season 3.

It just goes to show that no matter how many barriers you put up, there's always a way for a spy to get in and destroy the castle from the inside…

I'll miss Tech Links. It was, perhaps, the most technologically advanced website out there in terms of availability of server space and web services. It was a sort of technological refuge for me, and although I rarely ever posted there, things are going to be different knowing that it's no longer here.

But you guys should realize that only the Tech Links website has been shut down, not the servers. Lyoko Freak is fine as it's not part of Tech Links.

I am only going to post the same thing here that I did on Son-Neko's DA Journal in an attempt to get a larger overall viewerbase to what is probably the most calm, down to earth, and truth-seeking comments in regarding to this situation:

Unfortunately, as a neutral party here, it was only inevitable and I'm only surprised they have lasted as long as they did. It may very well be related in some way to the ending of CL (rumors or not, I have heard excuses as bold as TL being the reason there will be no Season 5.)

From a legal standpoint, Warton and the rest of the crew at TL have been flying under the motto 'ignorance is bliss' and their own legal state as minors and have openly and proudly done stuff as ballsy as watermarking episodes which they have already gotten in a not so legal manner, forcing people to credit them for everything on their site when all of it is solely owned and copyrighted by moonscoop who gave them no permission to do so in the first place. Not to mention how many times they have indirectly and deliberately stolen from the parties involved in making and airing CL (pre-air releases ripped off the CN website for one which results in no ad-related funds going back to the creators where they belong).

Hikaru should not be the one to blame for this either. While her intentions were immature, the end result should be commended. Through TL's actions, CL in general has been slowly dying, if mostly in an unnoticed manner. TL (was) a huge community and attracted a large chunk of the CL fanbase whether some want to believe that or not. And most of them used it largely to get access to the illegally garnered materials that TL has hosted. That's not gonna look so good to Moonscoop or involved parties when a chunk of their fanbase is not going to go out and legally purchase the merchandise from the show or watch the episodes on TV with adfare intact.

I'm personally happy TL is gone if only because it gives that sliver of hope that Moonscoop may try and continue letting CL live now that one of the largest piracy rings of the show is gone.

And I will say this: I am not saying I am innocent. I have been the alternative source for downloadable CL eps for quite some time. Back to the end of season 2 and beginning of season 3 in fact. But all of my rips are gathered after the airing and not once do I marinate them in watermarks or force people to credit me solely for when they use them. In fact, despite this, I, personally, have purchased every DVD set of the show, the soundtrack, and a large amount of other merchandise despite my activity in 'illegally' providing the community with episodes and other CL material (Additionally, these have only been available to a VERY tiny fraction of the fan base, once again thanks to TL)

As a final note: I know I'm gonna catch flack for this and I don't quite care. But I am only going to respond to civil responses and debates, not outright flames. Thanks.

I also want to add a FINAL note that I am not in any way in any hatred of TL. But I do think they would have been much better off as just a discussion community without being largely and prominently involved in illegal distribution of the materials that they did.

The only thing ever referenced as far as anything remotely relating to any permission being given is that Moonscoop stated, indirectly and through someone else which could very well be a rumor for anyone knows, is that they didn't care.

Now I doubt any of you have a business degree and neither do I, but it's pretty common sense when referring to a company at all worth their market share. They 'may not care' initially (if that's even the case. Again, I have not seen anyone give specifics on the matter. It's a rumor to me until factual proof is given), but once their bottom line starts to erode due to not-so-legal distribution as is this case, they will by all means go on the offensive to protect their IP (Intellectual Property). And seeing as nothing in the way of a legally binding statement was made on the matter, Moonscoop is completely in the right to take down or force down TL, or any other fansite they deem a concern for that matter, and there is nothing that anyone involved in TL or the community can even wish to legally do to save themselves.

And if anyone starts to bring up the whole 'TB3 visited Jerome and they are nice people, blah blah blah'. Jerome Mouscadet, the whole voicecast, and other members involved in the creative process of the show hardly have much say in the legal matters of the company. So whether you want to believe that just because the creators are awesome nice guys, it has no bearing on the legal and administration departments of moonscoop.

I didn't see any other charm with the site as others may have. Most of the people I saw was ignored unless you were someone famous in the CL fanbase or great for helping get materials or info.

TL's only perk for me was the ability to get episodes if I was lazy enough to miss it and view Lab Rat. But even with it gone, it doesn't mean that will come to an end. There are plenty of sites to watch CL.
