Making a video using a folder of pictures as the frames

Postby Jeremified » Fri Mar 14, 2008 6:42 pm

Does anybody know of a good program that can convert a folder of pictures into a video (similar to the way a .gif works, but in .wmv or .mpg format)? I don't want it to be like a slideshow, though- the frames should move as fast as a regular movie (27-30 fps). What program can I use for that?
thank you all for the good memories <3

How about MEncoder?

Probably with a command line like so:
Code: Select all
mencoder mf://*.png -o output.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=msmpeg4

...to process all pngs in the directory.

Check the documentation, though. There are lots of options.

For some odd reason, Winamp couldn't read the output, so I just had to use the lossy .wmv encoder with WMM.
Ta-da, awesome Xana animation!

Interesting. Clean animation. Could use some more action, though.

Uh..., its called an automovie. Or you could just change the default settings under tools>options>advanced, then add all of the pictures to the timeline.
