Ok what do you think?
Last winter we had a bad ice storm that knocked out power for a week and a half. But that’s not what this is about. The morning before the power went out; School was called off in the entire southern Illinois area being that it was declared an emergency, so I was asleep (figured make the best of it). Mom wok me up and asked to use my truck, Seeing that she works only about 1 mile away, and my truck may not be the best on ice (only 2 wheel drive) but its all terrain tires are a lot better then my moms little Honda, so I figured I would let her for safety reason.
I give her my keys, And go back to sleep, About 5 min later my dad wakes me up and tells my mom was in a wreck, Startled I jump up. What happen is one of the salt trucks were deicing sideways on a hill, my mom went over the hill and was forced to turn and slide into a Mustang. It knocked off 2 tires on the mustang but just dented my front bumper and smashed a headlight. According to the police it was the salt trucks fault. I don’t blame my mom at all, In fact at the look of it if she would have been in the car it would have totaled the car, but my truck being taller and having a Steel bumper it just knocked out a head light.
So now you know what happened, here is where I get mad. All summer we have been talking to the city about paying for the repairs on my truck and the mustang. The police report did say it was the city’s salt trucks fault. Well we finally got a response about a week ago and they said “Were sorry for the incident, and we have read the police report, and we have conducted our own investigation, and determined the salt truck was doing its job and is not at fault so we can not pay for any damagesâ€
