Theory test and driving

Postby Mandaz » Wed Dec 14, 2005 11:12 am

All this week i have been worrying the hell out of myself about my theory test that was coming up...which is infact today and i've already had it this morning. I've been told by friends and family not to worry, just do your best and if you fail you fail theres nothing you cane do.
But yeah got there and done it all and had 5minutes to spare to when the test ended. I got out was given my exam papers by a lady and i looked at it...
and it said PASSED! I kinda danced down the corridor lolz.

Anywya now it's my practical test, but i'm gonna have more lessons to help me more. If i fail on that then i will try again.

I felt the exact same way when I took my theory test (and as I'm British, I empathise as I've done the exact same proceedure) - I found the Hazard Perception test a nightmare but the first part was identical to a 'Driving Test Theory' CD I'd been swatting from - graphics, questions, answers etc. Easy!

My one piece of advice would be to practise dilligently and don't worry about the practical test - it's only 15-25 minutes long and basically he'll ask you a few brief questions about the car and then drive out into the street and he'll direct you on a varied little course, getting in reversing round a corner, paralel parking etc.

Now I got lucky - some cows were being herded across the lane and it held us up a bit so it was less time to make a mistake, but I still passed even after trying to start off on a hill in neutral - I rolled backwards!

And anyone can make a good driver. I passed about a year and a half ago and yesterday drove 290 miles solo from Lancaster uni to home - down the M6, along the M56 and then south along gradually smaller roads and finally over the mountains into South Wales.

If I can pull that off, then I have full confidence in you passing.

Good luck Mandaz!
