I'm hooked to LF.

*Sigh* Now that I'm a member of LF, I'm just sitting in front of my computer, clicking the "Refresh" button every 15 seconds, waiting for somebody to post anything anywhere. I have nothing to do but sit in front of my laptop and look for the little golden check marks on the side of the screen. Any tips to get me un-hooked from my laptop for at least 30 minutes or so?? Please, I'm really bored having to continuously check for new replies.

Read a book WHILE waiting for new replys. Go out to grab abite to eat. Write some poetry in the spare time. You can still be on your computer and do other things. I'm eating dinner, reading a book, writing a midterm paper, watching TV, and writing htis message all in the last five minutes. Multi-tasking is your friend.

I'm already listening to music and posting and reading at the same time... maybe something like a side interest that could detach my fingers from the keyboard? I've already tried multitasking, it just wore me out.

Go outside and do something - I prefer biking around in the country to kill time when I need to get away.

Ok, I tried doing something else while waiting... it worked. But I can't really enjoy biking around in the country because I'm in a desert area and it's hot here even in the winter.

I would do the bike-riding thing but 1, I can't ride a bike and 2, my location isn't the best for biking (ex: very steep hill that would kill me if I fell down on a bike. And I live on a dirt road, not the best either.

I know what you mean I should have been asleep long ago, but one suggestion is rather that multi-task focus on one thing like meditating on what happened on that day

Learn programming, that's usually makes you type a lot (I used to write 1000 lines a day), and spend a lot of time by it. It's also a valuable ability.

well...being that I do hair and stuff, that usually keeps me fairly busy off to the side...sometimes my brother and I go do a few errands, eat supper, play video games, watch CL, I dont go to bed until im absolutely tired, and until LF dies down at night..hehe
