You seriously go to a private school? Doesn't seem to me, but you're right about the uniform thing. Well, if your parents can pay for it...

I would hang myself if I had to go to a private school.

Rodri, I know how strict schools here can be.. I guess mine's a little more liberal. Most teachers let you chew gum as long as they don't "see it or hear it" (aka blowing bubbles or making popping noises)

Usually they make you pull your pants up if your boxers and/or other undergarments are showing. But that's about it (unless it's like really ridiculous)

How different can a private school be from a public one, besides prices? If you were in my country, you wouldn't doubt into choosing the private schools. They're cheap (the most expensive one's around $900 per month, my ex-school was like $225 per month.. it's cheap) around here. But still, education in Peru sucks ass.

About chewing gum, in my ex-school... they would warn you and make you throw the gum away. If you disobey, then detention. My school wasn't that strict. They only kick you out if you mess with the school's money or if you do something really serious against someone else, etc.

Well.. you know how the stereotype goes. Full of snobby elitist rich kids, everything based on looks (as if it wasn't already..) and how much money you have, if you show an iota of individuality you're instantly ostricized.... and I heard they're like 10x more strict than public schools. (plus the UNIFORMS. Gah!)

The uniforms doesn't mind in my country. Both type of schools wears the uniform in my country, the public one looks crappy.

As for my ex-school, very few were snobby (it could have been an elitist school if its origins would have been different), but almost my whole classroom has their stereotypes, the only thing that f**ked me up was the looks (in USA, it would have been better for me, really... not minding if public or private), anything else I was ok.

But on college... I'm in the middle. I hate being in the middle...

Incredibly different!
My friend Alex came from one of those 'prestigeous' academies for girls, and they had horses and three pools, all lived on campus, their own store on grounds, gourmt food, and teams varying from volleyball to a school air hockey team.
Where as she moved here where we have government food with microchips and human remains in it, three hundred school sport fields scattered so far away you have to drive *The teachers drive, we have to run* and all our teachers are afraid of water.
And Private schools cost a lot of money, while public is next to nothing. But then again, we have very high taxes.
And an old principle named Jack Daniels.

This kind of reminds me of my current school. We have a lot of rules, but they are never enforced. Chewing gum is really up to the teachers in charge of the class, but I like that. No one ever gets in trouble for pants at their ankles or a skirt that doesn't go any lower than the belly button, but if you say the word "crap" in my biology class (which is sophomores excluding me), you go straight to the principle’s office. That's not even a rule! I mean, why is it bad for a bunch of 15 and 16 year old students to say crap rather than the more vulgar version of the word?

I usually don't like to talk about where I used to live, but this is the perfect oppurtunity

Guys who sucked up-1 day, no belt, no big deal. 3 days, no belt, detention

Guys who didn't suck up-1 day, no belt, detention

Girls-1 week, no belt, no big deal

Scape goats (people who the teachers made examples of, usually poor/black/both)-1 day, no belt, detention WITH an in-school suspension until someone brought a belt

The scape goat punishment was the "official" one, but they were too lazy to enforce it and were scared of parents chewing on their beaurocratic(sp?) ***es

Ouch.
My family lives on the-eh, lower side of our class, and we've barely been able to keep our house. there was actually a time when w e had to sell our computer, most Veteran Tomers could remember that.
And my wardrobe is a bit small. Since I'm the oldest and tallest one in my generation on one side of the family, no handmedowns. And on the other side, I'm the skinniest.

BUT THAT WAS JUST RACIST!

Some schools here have uniforms :w/e:. And if you don't conform to to uniform, you get detention. It's really quite stupid.
