ouija board

Postby jayde_child » Thu Apr 12, 2007 6:43 pm

Yeah my friend and I tried a ouija board and it was really freaky because when my friends and I asked it questions it knew personal things about us. I the board what my password to LF is and it spelled out the whole thing!! I mean my friends dont even know my password so how is that possible? I heard that people who use a ouija board will get possesed by demons but that isnt true right?
I've been kinda scared ever since I played it.
Will I really get possesed or haunted by spirits or whatever?

welll... it's possible to be possessed but, I don't think they usually do, but from what I've heard they do often deal with demons. I heard one story that a group of people tryed a ouija board, and they were playing aroud with it, and asked "what's your name?" and then the thing spelled out one of the names of the devil. I'm not sure about how this worked, but I am sure it happened.

I can give you two pieces of advice. One; DON'T try it again, the results could be more than you can handle. And two; if you are still feeling freaked out, I would suggest that you try reading the bible, and/or praying. If you don't know how to pray PM me and I'll help.
You can take this advice and do with it what you will, it's just my two cents.

Hmm...

I don't know if you're a follower of religion, or even read the Bible (I haven't read anything out of the Bible, just excerpts), but the Bible pretty much states to avoid turning to the afterlife and supernatural. You know, it sounds pretty sad to make a connection that, "the Bible says it's bad, therefore, it's bad!!", but I don't really know what else to tell you. While I don't advocate the literal translations of the Bible (the direct quotes of Jesus are beautiful; some of the literal translations are quite...questionable depending how you understand it).

I've known two people who played with ouija boards. One of them was a homeopathic doctor I visited for some mild eczema amongst other things, and we started talking about ouija boards. She said she had played with it when she was a lot younger, and had some really ugly things happen to her. A lot of negativity was surrounding her, she felt like someone was next to her while she slept, it was pretty bad. My grandmother also used to play with them when she was younger; unfortunately, she's crazy now. I've always found these to be classified as attachments; not really possession. Look it up sometime.

I can't really give you much advice other than to stop right now before it gets out of hand. You may or may not be a follower of Abrahamic religions/Christianity, but take some time out to read it; it's quite soothing in times of despair I've found. Just don't take everything as a literal translation; I see the Bible as a figurative source, which drastically changes your approach on life (look at the Biblethumpers, and look at the real Christians).

Also, just to give you a hand in the future, if you have to ask whether or not it may be safe, you probably shouldn't do it. You may not become possessed (not something I really care to believe in), but different things will probably ensue, not necessarily easy enough to dismiss with a prayer...

Take my advice--as well as the entire forum's words--stop playing with the ouija board. It's not worth it, in the end. About the religion passage I mentioned earlier, don't look at it as a sin, or a fault. That's the last thing I want you to see it as. Rather, look at it as advice, comfort when needed, and some rough guidelines to follow if you want to keep yourself out of trouble.

I've never used one of those things but I believe they are similar to that "Peter Answers' thing. I don't know how they do it, and I don't know why it works, but my advice is to stop messing with it. IMO, I think people don't get possessed; they just subconsiously think it and drive themselves insane. So do yourself a favor and stay away from that kind of thing

Basically, as everyone has said: Ouija boards are bad news.

It would be in your best interests to stay away from them at all costs. I don't really know how they work, and I honestly don't want to find out. I also know people who have played with them and... yeah. Not good. Gauntlet offered some good advice, and any of my advice would just be restating what everyone else has written. Good luck!

It is better not to mess with the other side, because it can have major consequences. I read this book once that told about the dangers of messing with things like that and I have never been near one of those boards since. That book gave me nightmares for a week...

Ouija boards are bad news. It's best to stop while your ahead. I don't think bad things are going to happen to you now since you played it once. But continuing on might have some bad effects in the long run. But also don't be that person who has to look over their back every second. Just keep a level head. Just stay away from a ouija board from now on.

...It's a toy, you all realize this yes? It's a two dollar piece of cardboard and plastic. I don't know about you, but I think the spirits on the other side have better things to do then learn your LF password and bother with teenagers meddling with a game board.

I believe in the paranormal, but not in a toy.

Yeah I have heard about something like that happening to someone else...It may seem like a toy, but then how can you explain all the weird or freaky things that happen while using it? There are so many different accounts of peoples experiences while using those things.... My personal opinion is stay away from them because bad things can happen. and it is better to be safe then sorry.

Have you ever used one before? You may believe it is a toy and you could be right.. You are entitled to your own personal opinion... But I believe in evidence and my own personal experience...There has been too much collected data that proves strange things occur when using one of these boards some accounts are the same and some are different.. However I have not read any scientific studies that prove or disprove the theories that they are true portals to the other side or that prove that they are toys... I believe in staying safe and not messing with things that could be dangerous...To quote Mr. Weasley, "Don't trust anything that can think for it's self if you can't see where it keeps its brain."

What made you stupid enough to try one out? (sorry for the insult, but why put yourself in this postion) A few years ago, I found one in my babysitters house and didn't ask it questions but just put the glass thingy over all of the letters. Nothing happened to me, and I never really was scared. Maybe you did it to yourself or something

...

With a little bit of research, you could probably find a few places that sell them. You could also, you know, check Amazon or eBay, and have your parents buy it for you.

Unless, of course, you don't want your parents to find out, then you're on your own. Again, I suggest you don't buy it; it's not so much of a, "it's a cursed toy", but rather, your intentions are what make it frightening, you know? No hard feelings.

On topic, jayde_child, glad to know things are alright.
