Postby Lyoko SA80 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 4:49 pm

:whatever: I have now finished college and seeking a job .But as I'm close to 18 and planned to joined the armed forces I have no idea what to do .The war in iraq and afghan's is wondering me .I don't what to leave my friends(Which I now just got to know and that) and girlfriend behind.(Which of which I would die for and who is happy with me join the armed forces ).I'm now begining to enjoy my life as I have had a rough past and don't what to mess up for the :cussout: knows how many times.I tried to follow my heart but half want's to join and half does'nt want to leave my life behind. ;__;

I have reached the end of a long rough and hard path should go left towards the armed forces and risk to lose everything or right. Stay until I'm 18 and join next year and risk stress,depresstion ,loniness and that crap.

I'm in a right jam and the plus side I still got you lyokofreak to help me but I meet you right so I ment be speaking to someone is 13 to 78 which is not good .

What are you reasons for going? Do you think people are expecting you to go, or that you're fighting for the right cause? Will your sacrifices outweigh the gain? If you're having this much distress over it, you may want to rethink your decision about joining the army.

If you need someone to talk to, you can send me a PM or IM, whichever you prefer.

I think a good idea would be to sit back...think long and hard about it, relax for a bit, and try not to stress out so much..

I mean beyond that. What are you really joining the army for? Surely you can become physically fit by going the gym three times a week. There must be a reason why you feel joining the military for the war in Iraq is so important.

When most of your life has been cruel to you and you have not really had true friends and a girlfriend (Until now).Lonieness fear(Been bullied in school) and the feeling of being useness and scum .Really doe's get to you .When picking up a rifle and feelin the kick back and let you hardship fly out down the path into the past you try and leave behind. Is a great feelin .I have been with the armed forces all my life .Watching RAF planes fly past and wisking I could do something like that.Watching the manga and anime of today and wishing my life could be like that .Were you do a job and still have your friends to cheer you up and have a girlfriend to hold close .That my life in short

I don't want to come off as offensive or anything, but I don't think the military will provide that for you, at least not compared to what other opportunities. You could pursue another career that you love instead of following one that would just prove to vent your anger.

I don't really know what the military life is like--from what I hear, the conditions are horrible and it's pretty rough--but I wouldn't like to go there. I've had a lot of problems in my life, and still do (and no, I don't mean, "I never got invited to parties!", less superficial things), and while physically hammering out my anger and frustration in the military would help, that's not what I would want to pursue for my life. I'd like a stable job that I love doing, where I can focus on the positive and ignore the negative, and I could still be close to my friends and family.

However, one thing; don't rely on your friends and girlfriend as a crutch. A friendship (and partnership) with them is good, but don't rely on them to supply your happiness; that's a dangerous pitfall. If you can't make yourself happy and content, then the military won't provide you with what you need.

You just got a college degree; don't throw it away just yet.

Good advice..and honestly..with the whole anger issue...that can lead to some pretty bad things if left unchecked.

Pursuing a stable job, being close to your friends and family, will get you into a routine that will help you to stabilize yourself...and maybe then you will find happiness.

I understand. I don't think I can offer you anymore advice; it feels like you've given everything a lot of thought and consideration and you have tried something outside of the military life. I wasn't offering my advice to...control your life, or persuade you away from the war--something I don't agree with very much right now--but I don't want the worst to happen to you or anyone else.

Think about it, though; make sure you're doing it for yourself, and not for anyone else . Whichever you choose, though, will be the only answer you want, and the right one if you believe so. Whichever you choose, we'll support your decision, and hope it makes you happy.
