It seems that people don't like me. Let's look at the following examples.

In the entire time I have been on this website, I have advertised nearly all of my forums and websites. NONE of them got a decent response.
I have tried to be a supportive member of the community. That obviously didn't work out.
I have been generally ignored for the past 2 years.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This forum is dying, and we all know that. Therefore, I have decided to join the ranks of those who have left LF. i may or may not return (if anybody even bothers to read this). You may find me on more inviting communities.

That is all. If you even bother to read this, then whatever. :arg:

Don't take it personally. I've got 346 posts or so, and I'm still rather new to the in-crowd (yes, you little circle of friends in BKO, melookyatyou!). Only a few threads of mine have had responses, my posts in BKO are quickly overshadowed, and, generally, I'm still trying to find my place in things. People just get busy or overlook things. I'm sure they don't mean to intentionally ignore you, but things come up, and they don't always get a chance to reply.

It's just a matter of chance. As I'm a relatively unknown person (and I don't mean that in a cool, mysterious way, but..who the hell is he?), I haven't really ventured out and met people on the forum on a personal level. You sound like a nice guy; I'm sure it'll come eventually if you keep trying. It's not you, Colonel.

Hope you decide to stay.

If this is infact true, and our little message board here has an "in" crowd then you can paint me red and call me the coca-cola casonova.

Generally if you un-noticed, we'll gee, is that such a bad thing? Off the top of my head I can only really remember the forum members that pissed me off/pissed everyone else off.

I don't post in BKO much for a reason. I've tried going to places that 'lots of well known people go to' before and it's never worked out. You need to have a skill of some sort (drawing really well is the most common I know) to be really accepted, I've noticed this over the years. I don't have anything like that, and by the looks of your post you don't have anything like that either. If you're so desperate to 'be noticed', try a forum so small nobody knows its there that's full of n00bs. 'Cause personally, that's the ONLY THING that works.

And Pepsi, EVERY forum has an 'in' crowd in some form. Not everyone can see it, but there is. But God in heaven do I hate them. Not neccessarily the people in them, just the fact that it makes so many people feel small and pathetic, completely ruining peoples' fun.

Heck, I've been ignored for years and still am, but you don't see me leaving. Show some backbone. Just because the forum's getting more and more deserted doesn't mean you can't give it a chance or two.

I totally have to agree with this. Drawing attention is a way to get over in just about any forum. The most important tactic of a newbie to get along, as long as keeping a solid posting and not posting half-*ssed crap.

Okay, as Tekirai said, there's always "in" groups in forums everywhere. This forum is no different to "in" groups. The first members of this forum (that's my in group, albeit changed), the ex-Tomers, some other people, the LawDeeKnifeSmex faction... heh, I also had my "in" group, difference was that I was usually overshadowed by just about any person here.

At the wrestling forum that I go to, I had to post along with the members (quite small forum, but good enough like the old LF days, but far superior IMO) and defend myself as well to get over with them. Hell, I was awarded there twice as Poster Of The Month twice. :)

It's all drawing skills... Tekirai has drawing skills, Piper has drawing skills, STI has drawing skills, even Gaunlet has drawing skills (hell, I pay attention to him sometimes and I think of him as some decent human being)... but the author of the thread has barely done anything interesting during the time I stayed on LF.

Colonel Catastrophe wrote:In the entire time I have been on this website, I have advertised nearly all of my forums and websites. NONE of them got a decent response.

Basically, people don't have time to bother with people's stuff... or they don't give a crap. And I've seen plenty of idiots here advertising tons of half-*ssed Code Lyoko forums (exception of 1 or 2 that may have decent CL forums). Now, personally, all CL forums/communities pretty much suck (none of them rock or are more outstanding than the other)... and still I come here or bother to watch it, so if this forum blows, all CL forums blow.

I agree with MakeYourself on some counts. In order to be noticed, be noticeable. Create an inside joke. Have some sort of phrase you always say. Interact with us if you want us to interact with you.

I see the people that are funny, interactive, and sociable as large facets of the LF community- like, say, Gauntlet, Tekirai, Pepsi... and all those people MY mentioned. I've hardly heard a peep out of you, Colonel. So...tell us some stuff about you. So we can interact.

This forum is not dying if there are people willing to keep it alive. There's a load of people like that on LF.

Believe me Colonel, you can advertise the heck outta something, and it can still spiral downwards in a blaze of non-glory. I know that's happened to almost anything I've created...

And in a forum environment it can be easy to think you're ignored, or passed over. And I can tell ya, that's usually not the case. There's always gonna be someone at any given forum who knows who you are, who pays attention to your posts, and would know it if you were gone. If you still feel ignored though, I agree with what Carth said: Make some name for yourself. Stand out in the crowd. Soon enough, you'll get what you're looking for.

And like I more or less said at the beginning of the post, don't feel bad if your forums/sites go ignored, even with repeated promoting. In this day and age, something has not only gotta reach out and grab people to get their attention, but it's also gotta shove itself down their throats and sprout out their stomachs with "LOOKIT ME LOOKIT WHAT I CAN DO" signs, complete with flashing chase lights. That's why you just keep improving your stuff, and keep promoting, and just continue in that cycle. Someone, sometime, will notice and with any luck, that'll get the ball rolling.

Your acting like a CPL missing home you mebnt tobe a rupert (Military term for officer) I'm the person here with the lower rank

Well the reason the site is becoming :snoring: is simplly due to the fact cl was off air ,but because season 4 has started it sure feel more alive when the show can back on it feet. I think if you try and speak to people (PM me or orthers if it helps ) and try and take part in the discussion side to the site a little more. Don't worry sometime I feel the same .Just smile and been happy :D

People like you, ok? Yes some peopl wont like you and yes, people wont care, but the important this is that there are people who do care. All the mean people in your life, dont think about them, just be happy you HAVE people that care. There are some people that have no one to go to, no family no nothing, but you do. And If you think the fourm is dying them keep coming back. You and every one else has to take that into action or the fourm WIL die. People Even you can make a difference on it.
