1. How did he learn Pencak Silat? He is so good at that, and we don't even know who taught him, how he learned it, and why.

1 good question. I play it that it's something he realised he need to perfect when he started having to save the universe on Lyoko. but he started when he was a little kid, you know, like karate klessons, at about age 7.

2. I don't think Ulrich would call forth his attire, but there have been moments when you KNOW he wished he had his sabre!

3. I dunno guess we'll see in Season 3!

I think that your answer to number one is a great answer. I can see Ulrich practacing after he went to Lyoko. And probably with Yumi. I think we've all seen 'Garage Kids'.

On the first CL DVD, Ulrich is the first selectable character in both the bio and vehicle preview sections. He is one of the most popular characters. And also the sexiest male on the show.

that's funny. Actually I just decided that that's when he started, in terms of the kind of character research I like to do.In fact your questions actually help me ( and probably others as well) to do that kind of background work. so keep 'em coming.

Was it taken before you had the baby of after having the baby? Her name is Audrey, right?

you were right about the picture being taken before the baby! But I still pretty much look like that now, except I had my hair cut in bangs recently. I appreciate all the nice comments everyone said about us. There are quite a few pics of people on the web. But I don't know about Jodi, who is also a babe. Let those who are interested know that Mirabelle's hair is a gorgeous strawberry blonde-red.

Re Barbara's last post, I'm in whole-hearted agreement about how William adds an edge to the Yumi/Ulrich dynamic - he's great like that.

What I want to know is what's Hiroki's purpose (honestly - gotta love the little munchkin but he seems kinda pointless)?

So, Barbara, um...what kind of character research do you do on Ulrich, Tamiya, Hiroki, and Kiwi? This is just a friend-to-friend question, since I consider you to be a friend.

I don't do extensive character research on any of the characters except Ulrich, and it's not EXTENSIVE. I just try to imagine what it must be like for him to live those situations. I also try to bring up meories of what it was like for me in Junior High, and howimportant it was to look cool and not embarrass myself in public... thosr are some of Ulrich's main concerns.

It's a bit awkward for me to consider people friends when I have never met them. I prefer to say "someone I correspond with on the forum"

thanks for taking that question. You are right about sharon. sometimes it's hard to know how to react to people who start writng alot and expect you to have lots of time to respond and get involved. I'm speaking only for myself but other VA's might feel the same way when I say that we CAN'T get too involved. I love answering the questions, and it's terrific that we all like ths series so much, but when it starts getting personal I have to back off. I'm not talking about you TB3 or anyone in particular but the Sharon question gives me the opportunity to express this, awkward as it may come out, BEFORE it becomes an issue.
