Jimbo in Lyoko

Howdy,

I just finished coloring a sketch that TB3 came up with. Taelia posted it in the VA room under the "David Gasman a.k.a Jim, Herb, And William" thread. I PMed TB3 about it but the bug hit me and I couldn't wait to work on it (So, if you want me to change anything like we'd discussed TB3 - just let me know).

Taelia gets credit for the idea (and design I believe).

The background is a photo of Yumi in Lyoko that I had to remove her from. I'd wanted to try and have Jim posing next to her but the scale was too far off.

The original pic stated a "Zeus, god of thunder" motif. But the armor was Japanese. No problem, I kinda went with both ideas and drew a copper-plated bo staff. That way he'd be able to really zap X.A.N.A.'s creatures as he hit them.

Again, I asked TB3 for more details of the original ideas and will change re-work the image more to the original idea if asked. I have no real idea why Jim's holding a staff or wearing the outfit TB3 drew - maybe Taelia can answer that. It was a cool picture that he was nice enough to allow me to mess with.

As for your questions, Taelia just asked for a picture of Jim in armour with a bo-staff and I ran with it - the armour was from a biker magazine and the armour around his face emulates his band-aid!

The back of Jim's ID card for Lyoko will have a stylized lightning bolt. Sissi's will have a cat face.

I don't know if I should feel happy or sad at that. but I'll say it again, I love what Shanester's done with my pic and he's free to colour any of my drawings if he thinks they're worthy.

Heh, that's praise indeed since I'm partially color-blind. Thank you. I have to be careful with shades - at least ever since it was pointed out to me that an Aquaman photomanip I did awhile back had bright GREEN hair. Sure looked yellow to me at the time

I even try fighting with my wife over what color things are - yes I'm stubborn and that much of a pain sometimes.

To the point, if I do post something that seeming looks off to someone, give a (polite) call out and ask, for instance, if I meant to color Odd blue.

Wow, that's great! That's probably how I would picture Jim in Lyoko. Though in the show I actuall never want to see Jim or Sissi for that matter get that close to the group. It would make things too easy for the gang. Half the fun is having sneaking out of class to get to the factory.

Agreed. I came up with the idea after seeing "False Start" and "Code: Earth".

Lyoko Virtual Power
Type: Transformation
Description: Jim uses this phrase to transform into his Lyoko attire whenever he's on Earth and when XANA attacks directly. He begins by raising his right arm above his head and crossing his left arm over his right arm. He then moves his arms down and his transformation device begins to glow. A light in his heart glows gray, showing through his maroon undershirt. He is also wearing his khaki trousers as well. Next he puts his hands up and his hands are covered in lightning. He crosses his hands over his chest then brings them above his head, and his face armor appears. Lightning strikes around him as he spins and throws his arms down. His Kevlar armor appears on his body. A brown Eye of XANA spins in the background as lightning zaps his feet and his combat boots appear. Armor appears on his hands, followed by the armor on his thighs. He winks at the camera ^^. Completely transformed, Jim poses with lightning bolts behind him.
