All right, so yesterday I took the plunge and bought myself a nice DS Lite and a copy of Code: Lyoko. Man if this wasn't my first DS game, I'd be sorely dissapointed.

I'll just put it blunt, the 2D levels are an absolute chore. This is bassically what your doing: "And I'm walking and I'm walking and I'm walking... Oh look I found a key!... And I'm walking and i'm walking and I'm walking.... Unlock door... and I'm walking.... Elevator, scanner room please!... Walk walk walk"

Sorry for the spoilers but the 2D bits are just that and you get bits and piece of dialoug here and there, that is bassically just really condensed plots of season 1 and 2.

The 3D parts? I'm a little nixed on. On the one hand, I am having fun, on the other hand hacking and slashing enemies has no stratagey to it. The sheild is utterly useless unless your Aelita. Odd's attacks suck, just to put it bluntly.

And I'm forced to wonder, if I wasn't a fan of the show, would I STILL enjoy this game? I doubt it. But the fact that is Code: Lyoko, is the only thing making me want to finish it.

That being said, graphics are amazing and the game is filled with FMV's and music from the show.

I don't understand why they have characters dot the landscape if you can't talk to them... Hell it might of been just better off to make the 2D parts a short cutscene because they are jsut that freaking worthless.

What I hate most about the 2D parts is getting lost!! That probably sounds pathetic but it's true! I can never get to where I need to go without spending 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get there. The map helps a little, but I still keep on getting lost.

The graphics are pretty good, though. Way better than I expected. And overall, it's an okay game...

And it got a 6.5 on IGN, which is better than what I thought it would get. :B
