CL for the Wii

General original series discussion (Seasons 1-4)

All the trailers look sweet. Makes me really want to get the game, but not enough to convince me to buy a Wii.

...Think at some point a person would be able to play as William? I would totally pay 200+ just to do that. XD

Actually...I disagree. That sounds like Barbara to me, albeit a tad higher pitched (but no more so than Jeremie is ^^ ). It has the same "scratchy quality" to it that Barbara's Ulrich has (and which the French Ulrich does not), and because it doesn't match the French Ulrich, who can be heard in the DS game. The French Ulrich has a slightly lower voice, and little to no "scratchy-ness".

My guess is that Barbara (like Sharon) also had to pitch her voice a tad differently because Ulrich's voice wouldn't carry well in the video game (I can see the trademark "scratchy-ness" itself actually being a problem since most video game sounds naturally have some added scratch in the voice track).

*blinks and re-reads through her post* ...I am a very scary Ulrich fan... XD;

Personally, I think it's an impersonator. And since I don't have a Wii and everything.... ;__; (wishes the game was multi ported)

I doubt they would hire an impersonator. It would cost more money to set up a contract. When gaming companies team up with production companies, they typically have VAs who have gaming request clauses in their contracts.

I concur.

Also, if all of the other cast members (including Barbara herself) said they had done voice work for the game, why would they just randomly decide to replace only Barbara's voice with an impersonator? That makes no sense. ^^;

I still think that that easily could be Barbara's voice, just with similar adjustments made to it, in the way that Sharon Mann had to adjust her voice for Jeremie in the game.

It could also be the French voice, like TB3 suggested, however, like I said, it sounds far less like the French voice than it does Barbara's.

Wait, were those enemies in the 4th trailer...KALAMARS?! So it's not the new Skippy, hm.

You know what's enough to convince me to get a Wii? Smash Brothers.

Seriously! Have you seen their website? That thing is tight, yo!

...but, of course, once I have it I'll get the CL game as well. Maybe Mario Galaxy, too.

They gave the game a 5.5, a mediocre score. That's good for the Game Factory, because they aren't doing good enough.

It would've been better if they sold the gaming rights to Epic or Bungie, but then, they would be turned into platformers about space aliens in unreal combats.

I say that either Activision or Atari would do good because they would go to the online demographic and make the game from there, correcting what is wrong and actually making the school 3D, but cel-shaded. For me, the game would be a big hit. People would buy it and plus, CL may become popular.

Are there any screenshots of the 2d environments in the game?

I think it's unfair to judge Bungie in such a way (or maybe it's just my inner Halo nut coming out). They've done a variety of projects in the past, and now that they're done with Halo, they're doing something else unrelated to space combat.

Anyway, I saw the game at Fry's on Saturday, and the box looked kinda hokey, if you know what I mean.

Also, look in the background of the shot of them 'materialising' in the lava environment - you can see the Skidbladnir paralell-parked in the background, somehow floating at the edge of the plateau despite being in the wrong configuration for hovering (whenever we see the Skid 'hovering' the wings are extended for the vertical thrusters to fire, and in this shot, the Skid's in it's 'water-environment' configuration with the nose pointing down, and the vertical thrusters pointing towards the camera...either the animators got lazy or the Skid's got a new trick).

WARNING

The "Volcano" "Region" or "Sector" (they switch terms a heck of a lot in that game)
is the laggiest thing I have ever seen in a modern game. Seriously, I could barely move on my second boss fight against William (who's voice they didn't even try to modulate.)

It is an embarrasment to the series, and that's saying something from the series that made up Paco the Disco King.

And the shirt you get with the game is large, child size. So you people who are taller than that (like me) might wanna layer it a bit, but I'm just some due who moans about game's flaws and fashion is not my specialty.

Told you that this game was meant for kids. They don't think about us, the actual demographic!

(Please, Game Factory, sell it to Bungie, Activision, Rareware, etc. It'll be better and plus, they'll look at the demographic. It's not like every kid loves Aelita Hopper and CL.)
