Where do CL staff go after CL?

Postby TB3 » Sat Apr 25, 2009 6:13 am

"Where do you go after CL?"

A difficult question for any of us, but imagine how hard it would be for the show's staff. Musicians and Directors and Script Writers - all must now move on from something that dominated their lives for the better part of several years.

I had thought that Moonscoop would retain some of their services in other projects, but was dissapointed to learn a year ago, when I tried to contact CL's director Jerome Mouscadet, to be told by the Moonscoop receptionist that he no longer worked there - bummer

However (and thanks to Taelia/Angie and codelyoko.net for bringing this to my attention), we can now account for the whereabouts of two of CL's senior staff. Jerome and script editor Sophie Decroisette, who could together be described as two-parts of the CL Triefca alongside character designer/creator Tania Palumbo, are now working on a show called Lou, co-produced by Disney Television France. Tonally, the show seems to flow along the lines of several of Disney's US productions like 'The Weekenders'

A sample of Lou (a complete episode in fact) can be seen below - I was looking for any 'nods' to CL, but aside from a character with a strange resemblance to Tamiya, no go - still, its nice to know that a pair of people who were very open with the fans are still at work on other projects - Good Luck to them in pastures new! :)

On other news, not that long ago I was recontacted with Mr Michael Leahy, agent to CL's score co-composer Herman Martin, giving a sample of what Herman's been up to since S4 (music tours, jazz-almbums, nu-techno music, he's been keeping very busy), and giving me the link to his website

I reccomend everyone takes a peek in the 'Code Lyoko' page on the sidebar down the left, as he includes a shoutout to a 'certain' forum, along with the promise of fun stuff for the future! :)

Hope everyone enjoyed this little peek into what the people who gave us many years of joy are up to - all three were always very good to the fans as well, so if the oppurutnity arises to support them in the new ventures, then please do! :)

Certainly interesting. I have yet to watch the "Lou" episode, but I likely will watch a little of it.
I'd just hope when and if they do an English dub they wouldn't give us a bunch of "Disney stars" as voice actors, such as Miley Cyrus.

I just hope this doesn't take away time from making the movies and a possible Season 5.

Any idea what the voice actors have been up to?

Can't speak for the VAs at this point, but last I heard of them, they were all doing very well :)

Regarding a possible 5th Season or movies, I doubt Jerome and Sophie would be able to return, since they're now clearly employed by another company - chances are that if that happens, Moonscoop will need to find a new director and script editor - its sad I know, but such are things (wry smile)

Truly a shame. Looks like this caps the true end of CL as we know it today..

Haven't checked out Lou, but what audience is it geared towards? From the look of the first 10 seconds, I could say it's very... girly.

[quote="Hernan Martin"]Some of you may have noticed that the soundtrack level in season 4 is a bit low key or a bit quiet? Well…that’s because the French production company thought it would be a good idea to let a cheapo sound studio do the mixing..voices and effects are all seperate..and to make things worse, its sort of a French tradition that “La langueâ€

I found the lead painter's website today, Frédéric Perrin.
Asides from some of his more current projects, there are a lot of paintings for CL, as well as scenes never actually in the show, like a hydroelectric dam. Perhaps a rejected idea?

Perhaps. It might be a good location for one of the Replikas in The Punic Wars, especially because of its filing.

And BTW, THIS IS MY 700th POST! w00t!
