What should we see in Season 5?

First... A TV-PG rating wouldn't hurt. Keep it more true to the French version (I've heard there's often cussing in the French version). Don't let the FCC get to them.

Also.. expand upon plots more. Make plots that expand over 3 episodes or so. Have a XANA attack fully win at first.

Probably not unfortunately. America doesn't like swearing, romance, or anything too intelligent. We prefer Flash over Substance, perfect example: Watch the opening sequence for "One Piece" or "Monster Rancher" in both Japanese and American versions, it becomes painfully clear.

For "What should we see in Season 5?", I'm pretty much open to anything. The only thing I really really want to see and it is almost non-negotiable is...Yumi and Ulrich sharing a kiss. They robbed us of that in the Season 4 Finale and I hated that, so hopefully they'll fix that.
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.

Okay... about the swear thing...

I'm not neccesarily bothered by mild swearing... especially in tight situations (If I was, I'd be a hypocrite). But... I wouldn't want Code Lyoko becoming a swear-fest either. A "damn" here and a "hell" there wouldn't really bother me that much... but if William's going to start cussing teacher's out, we have a problem.

About the Romance, I would definately love to see more of that progress. Of course, for Code Lyoko, leave the R-rated Romance to the R-rated Fanfiction writers. Is a kiss good? Sure. Is Yumi tackling Ulrich then the two of them blushing good? Sure. It's touching in a way, and displays some real emotion.

As for the FCC... I'd tell you where they can go, but I have instituted a self tone-down on swearing. If they're bothered by a Kiss, but are perfectly fine with a show that involves people shooting each other constantly, then I need to go over there and convince them to rethink their values.

One other thing, no matter what MoonScoop does, I don't care what else they do... but, above all, I do NOT want them to do anything that makes this mediocre purely for the sake of publicity and money. I understand they're a company and they need to make money, but, history of televison shows them that in the long-run, this will hurt them more then help them. Like, for instance, one could argue the costume change on Season 4 (nicknamed by me "The Great Spandex Revolution" for some reason) was just them trying to draw more attention. If history teaches us anything, it's that if you have a good thing going, don't try to go overboard or else you'll end up hurting yourself. Sure things need to change, but not like that. If they stay true, they will do great.

And my last thing (for now) is the target age group. While I still believe they should include much of the elements (like battles) that attract and entertain young viewers, I believe they should also include things (like deep plot) for us diehard loyal fans, who have grown a bit older, but will love the show regardless.

That is my input for the moment. Happy Halloween!

I too wouldn't mind Yumi throwing a D-bomb on Lyoko sometimes.. And stuff like that has apparently happened in the original version. The French are much less paranoid about that stuff, I guess. :whatever:

A higher target age group would possibly work out better, yes. Possibly removing the cheesy lines (yes, I admit there are some) and making it slightly more mature (FreshTV-esque mature, not South Park-esque)

As for romance... Yeah, progress it a little, but nothing over-the-top.

Also... I REALLY want to see them do Teleportation again, and go all over the place. Los Angeles, Beijing, Toronto... Under the Sea..

And stick in the Volcano Sector from the Wii game, and maybe an aquatic one. It adds a little variety.

EDIT: "FreshTV-esque" refers to the shows by FreshTV - Total Drama Island/Action/The Musical, 6teen, and Stoked.

TBH... I don't want CL to resemble anything like TDI or 6teen. It has it's own personality. Keep it that way. If it ended up like TDI I'd have to fly to France, learn French, and drop something worse then the "D-Bomb" on those producers.

I really don't want it to resemble any show. Sure, remove some cheesy lines. Sure, fix up all the stuff they did just for glamour. But keep it like it is. Like, for instance, take the 2-part Season Finale of Season 1. The way they acted in those 2 episodes... that, in my opinion, should be how they always act. Sensible, Mature, Normal.

EDIT: And about the adding new sectors thing... I wouldn't mind that, not at all, variety is good. But, once again, I quote "beware what you change." If they're just going to be adding all this new stuff left and right just to attract people, it's going to spiral out of control and crash.

Variety here and there? Yes. But tastefully added in at appropriate moments. Not just thrown in for the fun of it.

I'm sorry, but this is unfortunately a duplicate of this thread here.

I know you guys are hesitant to bump old threads but, as mentioned before, necroposting is okay, so long as the discussion is being added to. ^^

In any case, please continue all discussion of the possible season 5 at the already created thread as this one will now be locked. ^^; Thanks.
