Should they have extended XANA Awakens?

Postby Rho » Fri Nov 27, 2009 7:09 am

Should they have extended XANA Awakens, merged the parts together, and made it a TV movie? I'd say yes. I don't see why not. Oh well.

It is a good idea you have here and I'd like to see it. However, I wish they would be more accurate on the time sense. What I mean is between XANA Awakens and Teddygodzilla, we do not know how much time has elapsed. If they were to extend it, I wish they'd put in a line where they talk about the dance coming up in a couple weeks or something. We know in "The Trap", that episode took place one year after they met Aelita, so we know "Teddygodzilla" was set before then.

About this, I'm fascinated by time and hate when a simple scripting error messes it up. Also, I understand why it gets messed up because it is a small detail that gets overlooked.
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.

I like time, chronologically and such, but only relevant to the actual show. I hate when people try comparing to the real world.

Like how people say "Well, they'd probably be in college now if they were _ years old in 2004"... or "Well, since Aelita went into the supercomputer in 1994 and it was 10 years then this was set on ___ __th in the year _____, and, determining by the shadow's, it would be _:__, which coincidentally was the exact time that _____ _____ tied his shoelaces."

Chronological when compared with the show I love. But I DESPISE trying to just analyze the thing and comparing it to the real world.

It's awesome, okay. Stop with the scrutiny!!!

I'm not one of those kinds of people. I just like when everything syncs up nicely in the show. I hate it when they get small details wrong because they are small and therefore, only need a tweak that should take 1-10 minutes max! So, it is more of a scriptwriting issue rather than a time issue.

The only time I'm like that is when the Simpsons are involved because with the number of episodes they've done. Even if each episode was a day, a year still would have passed. There is one more actually, Jackie Chan Adventures stressed every season was a year, but Jade was still ten and not fifteen. But when dealing with Code Lyoko, I'm not all curmudgeon about it, I just like things to flow properly.

About the Einstein thing, I am well aware of this. The problem with traveling through the infinite dimensions is knowing the specific one to travel to. Finding a universe with Lyoko Warriors in it shouldn't be too difficult since it too has an equal chance compared to other infinite versions, but there are the universes that the Lyoko Warriors' events unfolded differently, here are a few examples of winning scenarios:

- Lyoko Warriors Win! UxY, JxA, Ox?
- UxA, JxY, Ox?
- UxO, YxJxA (Lucky Jeremy Universe!)

Though these were just where the relationships changed. Here are some with their defeat:

- Lyoko Warriors Lose and all humanity is enslaved by XANA
- Lyoko Warriors are killed, but still manage to defeat XANA
- Lyoko Warriors surrender, guys are killed, girls become brides of XANA.

There are also universes where XANA's the good guy and the Lyoko Warriors are the bad guys. Another where XANA isn't such a bad guy and was attacking the earth, so he could get some female/male companionship or something? The versions are infinite and that's not counting crossover universe version (Lyoko Warriors and Kingdom Hearts taking down XANA).

But still the odds of finding the exact universe are (INF : 1). But keep on trying. :)

I WILL try.

*Sigh*

Anyways, yeah, I only care about it being in synch with the rest of the show. Not real world.

And I do get annoyed by those small problems.

I remember once I was watching "Scooby Doo" a long time ago (I don't care about age demographics. Anything like that is good) and I noticed that they replaced one characters hair with another's for like 12 seconds .. and it still bugs me.

I was just watching "Image Problem" while watching this, and noticed that Principal Delmas called Yolanda "Dorothy".

I dunno, maybe it's a nickname?

I mean, if they put about 40 or so minutes of extended content, and not made it in multiple parts, it could have been a TV movie. I don't see why they skipped out.

I always see a TV movie as a sign of downhill for a TV show.

It just seems to me, whenever a show needs to resort to a TV movie, they're running out of ideas and need to make a big bang.

The fact that CL was never so desperate is good.
