Sorry if this has already been discussed... but it's been bothering me for a while and I can't help it. >_o

Okay, so in "The Key", we see Aelita's flashbacks and stuff, and they show it when she and Franz go into the scanners together.

Then, Jeremie states in "Franz Hopper" that he and his friends turned it on together.

So... if Franz was the only one who knew about his work in the factory, who was there to turn it off in the first place? o_O; He couldn't have programmed it to be shut off, because from the way he talked about going to Lyoko with Aelita, he obviously had no intention of doing so.

I think my brain exploded. x_x;

TB3 came up with the thory that it was Odd's father Matthew that turned it off. That theory is plausible, too.

I don't know where you came up with that idea that TB3 stated it was Odd's father. We don't know Odd's father or mother's real name. Do we even know any of their parent's first names (with the exception of Aelita's father)?

Anyways, TB3 did post a theory about how they found Lyoko in LTT, page 7:

Here's an idea for how the kids find Lyoko, that also has a touch of Garage Kids to it;

New kid Odd falls in the river while the others give him a tour of the area - the tide is coming in so Odd is swept UPSTREAM and through the old exit pipes from the factory's turbine room.

The other kids break into the factory and begin hunting for him.

Odd surfaces in that room with the criss-crossing canals, and while trying to find his way out, enters into the Laborotory.

He turns back when he hears the others and by trial and error they meet up - at which point Odd says.

"I just found something really wierd."

And the rest, as they say, is history...

Also I'd like to put this out for thought. I'm thinking prior to its finding, Lyoko was never actually shut down. Just made dormant and inactive, but still running as when I leave my computer running and the screen saver runs. Franz Hopper could have forced Xana into dormancy as a last act before he was taken when Xana went rogue. If the supercomputer was shut down, than it seems odd that Jeremie would not shut down the supercomputer except for times when he needs to talk to Aelita about his virtualization. Also it goes against "A Girl of the Dreams", where Odd and Ulrich were quite frantic about turning off the supercomputer, especially if all that would need to make things right is to turn it back on. How I think things transpired is that after finding the supercomputer, they somehow released Xana from his dormant state. After realizing the malevolence they let loose, they decided to shut him down. I would think Jeremie pleaded his case of keeping it on, since he grown accustomed to Aelita and asked them to turn it back on for him. After the gang heard him out, they agreed, and turned him back on together.

Whether you agree with us or not, is something different.

Um.. yeah, I don't know where the idea that Odd's father turned it off came from.

I believe we know that Jeremie's father's name is Michael Belpois. And.. uh... I could've sworn one of Yumi's parents called the other something during the series.. I just don't remember.

In fact, I think Odd's parents are the only ones we haven't seen... We've seen Jer's dad, Yumi's parents (frequently), Ulrich's parents (Zero-Gravity Zone), and even Aelita's parents (The Key). Sissi's dad is obvious, and William... I doubt they'll ever show his parents. So yeah, that's pretty much all of the main characters' folks... (unless you want to stretch it and count Hopper as XANA's "daddy" lol)

Anyway. I thought XANA caused the computer to go dormant/turn off... Either that or Aelita's Keys.

Uh... what if... XANA put it on hybernate?

Why would XANA put himself on hibernate, especially when he has such aspirations of death to man kind and world domination, which by the looks of it, he was forced back into activity, when the gang first found him. Who knows what really happened, until they finally give us that prequel. Though its still plausible for Hopper to have put XANA on stand-by from within the computer. It has been shown that the supercomputer can be controlled from within, and he is the supercomputers creator, so I would think he would have the knowledge to do so.

My personal theory is that perhaps XANA set the computer into a dormant state until someone came along to operate the computer and activate RTTPs, allowing him to grow stronger.

Here is my theory:

1. the origenal lyoko AI/ Rule was evil and phycotic.
2. Fanz hopper boots AI out of position and starts to creat XANA
3. AI leves a data packet that turns anyone in its former position into an evil phsycopath.
4. Franz Hopper iserts XANA....
5. When XANA caches Franz, First AI shuts off Super computer.
