If you really loved them, you would be glad to see their ultimate triumph.

Guys guys, clam down.

Taelia: You've got to understand. The entire plot of CL make it extremely hard to keep writing these storylines. It's a mirace they've made it past season two! If, and that's a big if consiidering we have no proof this season even exists, they have to take off the characters, then that means they couldn't do any more. Can you imagine the fifth season so horrible and clichee that it would immediately be taken off the air? No, because the writers understand that they need to create a good story, because that's their jobs, and I think you should respect that.

JesusFreak: It's still the writer's decisions whether or not they triumph or not. You should know that not everything ends in a clean victory.

And I would make a request to eveyyone out there: Don't get all sad, mopey, defensive, elated, or turn into flaming jalapenos if someone says the season shouldn't go on, or the charachter will die off. Well, You can get mad and huffy and happpyt and stuff, but until we have actual citation, all we're looking at is inferences, and there's nothing to say it's wrong. I'd hate more than anything to see people dissapointed because it won't go through, or people bashing the creators. If it happens, it happens, and it's done from there.

And if by some random chance, you do turn into a giant dancing jalapeno, then well... we'll eat you with cheese and corn chips! Mwahaha. AFTERPARTY!

Well, yeah, but I thought someone said this wouldn't be a cliffhanger and this IS a show meant for 7 year olds...

Yeah, you're right. Besides, the writers made some wonderful episodes that I myself particularly enjoy. ;)

Unless of course the characters are actually killed off, in which case we may want to have words.

Too much of a cast change could kill the show for good. What is Code Lyoko without little Jeremie, Ulrich, Odd, Yumi, Aelita, Sissi, Jim, Suzanne, and everyone else? If you watch Yu-Gi-Oh GX, the characters in that show are kinda stupid compared to the originals.

Joey and Tristan weren't exactly brainboxes themselves.

I actually liked Yu-Gi-Oh GX characters over the original. Jaden was as ordinary as a main hero could get, always had a positive attitude instead of brooding over things like an emo, talked more about enjoying the game rather than being so serious, didn't preach the heart of the cards junk every 6 minutes, and didn't rely of a spirit trapped in a puzzle box to fight his fights for him.

But anyway, my point is that while changing the cast can seem like such a bad concept to fans, it doesn't mean that the new cast is horrible.

Mmm, yeah, I followed the English and ignore the Japanese. Mainly due to a handicap then called dial-up. And I'm not interested in YGO anymore, so I wouldn't have a clue and wouldn't really care to check the Japanese version. :P

Anyway...

There's no use for using the gang in S5. The story's done. Franz and XANA are gone! William's free! What happened to Antea?

Yeah, they shouldn't use teh Gang, or their kids, and prolly not their grandchildren. Have new people at the Computer, with Armed Vehicles. All I ask.

Oh, Xana ain't dead. Come on, Aelita got brought back by a hair once and that isn't even genetically possible! If she can do that, I'm sure our favourite Murderous Multi-Agent System can pull himself back together. Also, given Jeremie's luck with program errors, a few Replika's inevitably slipped through that wipeout program. Put the two together and it's only a matter of time...

Well, some small announcements:

I telephoned Jerome at Moonscoop today - or rather, I tried to - I got routed through to the switchboard who told me that he no-longer works there. I can only assume that with Season 4 finished his contract has expired - au revoir Jerome, et merci.

Trying to chase down some info I contacted Taffy Entertainment's London office, and talked with a very knowledgeable young woman who explained that Code Lyoko will continue in one form or another 'on a screen either big or small' (now that piqued my interest :) ) and that a few avenues are being considered, including the possibility of a fifth season or direct-to-DVD productions.

She also made mention of 'future exciting projects' but whether that refers to CL or to Moonscoop's other products is up in the air.

Taelia, what I understand of this is that it'll be like a big-screen movie sequel that goes straight to DVD- or maybe it'll just be released on TV in French, but just DVD for English fans.

It'll probably be a crappy movie like "Ben 10: Race Against Time" or something.
