Blame some of the new recruits that they hired to the writing staff. I enjoyed five well-written episodes out of the thirty that have aired.

I'm different than you, in regards about Code Lyoko. Your reasons for despising the S4 episodes are mostly silly.

The only episodes from S4 that strike me as material for "best CL episodes of all-time" are Opening Act and Skidbladnir. The ones that were garbage are Double Take, Replika and IRNTAI. The rest are good or average.

I just don't go around like other people who praise all Code Lyoko like if everything the CL writers have done are outstanding (very few episodes are outstanding really). And even if a crappy episode airs, they just sugarcoat it and say it was decent.

I liked

The Lake
A Lack of Goodwill
Distant Memory
Canine Corundrum

And a fifth one, but I forget the title. I DID NOT like IRNTAI.

Well... it's over.

I'm really pretty sad about it.

Seriously.

I'm not looking at spoilers, though. I have at least some pride and patience in waiting for the end of the english dubs before crying my head off. But we'll get over it. We (lyoko Freaks) are a strong people, and we will find other shows, but we will never, ever forget Code Lyoko. Our love for it will never fade.

... and as I write this I'm listening to REM's song "It's the end of the world as we know it." Godd*mnit. At least it's fitting...

I had to force myself at times to watch Code Lyoko, thing that didn't happened with the first two seasons. As the last two season went on, to some people it was great, to me it just wasn't great anymore. I just kept watching the show just to see how it ends. And if at 4 seasons it's over, let it die there. I'm tired of watching the show getting b*stardized like in S3 and S4.

What would you have preffered? 45 eps of fillers? The plot had to move on some time.

That's so last season.

He's likely referring to the fact that S3 and S4 seemed to have a lot more filler episodes and do less to evolve the characters on the whole than S2. I don't entirely disagree, S4 has a lot of shiny cool stuff, but really felt like the writing standards were not living up to S2 levels. S3 had a couple of episodes that came close, but really sort of an overall decrease in writing quality too.

Now I know, I know, I might not have done any better were I in their shoes, but complaining is free.

I never said I wanted 45 episodes full of fillers. After S2, the whole show went down due to half-*ssed writing, lack of character development, overuse of pathetic jokes, among other details.

I'm not saying it's wrong to have a plot. But everytime there was a plot development, it wasn't done well IMO.

I never thought I'd say this, but MakeYourself is right. The show did seem to have a different, less captivating air to it after Season 2. They could have done so much more with it, but they didn't. Visuals were excellent, of course, but the plot was just deprived so much of the greatness it could havve had.

I've read the summaries for the last two episodes and viewed CodeLyoko.Fr's galleries......

I hate to say it, but I'm REALLY disappointed in the second to last episode... so Franz scarifies himself to wipe out XANA in ONE episode..... really anti-climatic... I was hoping for a battle against the Colossus, where they had to attack all the 'eyes' at the same time but still had to deal with XANA and it would be resolved in a two-parter ending episode. Plus William being possessed by XANA again made me think "oh c'mon.... we just freed the guy, couldn't he just be allowed to fight WITH the group against the evil that made him his puppet?

I also didn't like that William wasn't included in the last episode where the group reflects over everything... Not to mention we learn NOTHING about the past or where in the world Aelita's mother is.... so very.... disappointed

If there's a fifth season... well I hope they handle the end better then S4... I really was expecting SO much more.

"Echoes" is nothing more than a stupid clip show! I hate clip shows, but I love Sissi ditching Pizzaface and Dumbmuscle and becoming the GANG's friend![/i]

I've read all of the spoilers I can find.

I've watched all of the videos that I could fins.

And I must say that there are so many loose ends left untied. This might not be the end, but for now it is. So, as all fans say, the show must go on (even if we are the ones creating it :D).

That's true, too. I'd much rather see the gang have lots of adventures with new villaina, than seeing the series die all because of the supercomputwr going to sleep. But like I said, my mom thinks I belong in a madhouse. :(

Taelia...please stop with the pity-partying. This is the third time someone's had to remind you. Code Lyoko isn't dead in any sense of the word. Yes, season 4 has "ended" and the current storyline has been "wrapped up". However, there are still plenty of other ways for CL to live on (as TB3 and many other fans have expressed), and there is no need to be so pessimistic about it.

Thank you.

I suppose I'm the only one who saw the whole Franz Hopper/William plot points coming? ...And was cool with them?

Eh...

*blinks* William is in the last episode. He and Yumi have a scene together. LyokoCode has screens of it...

^^; I'm sure we've all dealt with it Taelia. A show can't go on forever.

And I reiterate. It has not been "cancelled". A "cancelled" show is generally stopped by a network before it can air its full run. CL is simply "wrapping up" of its own artistic choice. Like a movie does when it finishes filming. It's completely different from being "cancelled".

Yeah, I thought about that too. Look at False Start, Jim was there and he didn't have anymore exp than William!

But other than that, I love how the final episodes are looking. 8) But everyone's being so pessimistic towards the summaries, it's driving me crazy! Wait until you watch it and understand the words before being so negative people. :wag:

Regarding Hopper, you're talking about his death, which was as predictable as Harry Potter being a Horcrux. But about William, what do you mean? Him getting posessed by XANA one more time or the events regarding the last episode?

I also wonder about something, how was William possessed by XANA? I thought all who go through scanners couldn't be overtaken by the ghosts? Unless because it was XANA 'himself' as a ghost, it made that fact null and void?

I've watched the scene where XANA is destroyed.... noticed a "stock" scream mixed in that somewhat disappointed me more...

I've also watched the last two episodes in full..... still sticking by my original opinion of them.
