I think Aelita's possibly one of the best characters on the show. She's the reason that I watch it.

She is certainly the character with the biggest backstory, we know more about Aelita than any other character. More on that later. I admire Aelita's courage and intelligence, even though she has a stubborn streak. And, at the same time, she is rather innocent, or at least she was. These seemingly incompatible traits somehow work with Aelita, making her an interesting character.

Ex Fabula Aelita*:
Antea and Franz Hopper lived in the mountains, where they had a single daughter: Aelita Hopper. However, at some point and for unknown reasons, Antea died or dissapeared and Franz and Aelita moved to the Hermitage. Franz worked on Project Carthage and later Lyoko, and was a science teacher at Kadic Academy. We do not know if Aelita attended Kadic. We know Aelita loved her doll Mr. Puck and riding her bike, or at least that she had those items. However, on June 6th, 1994 (the 2,546th or so) Franz and Aelita were virtualized to escape the Men in Black. Franz attempted to negotiate with XANA, but failed and shut down the Supercomputer. XANA stole the Key to Lyoko in Franz's memories, but for some reason, did not steal Aelita's, just the memories of her life on Earth.

For a decade, she lived on Lyoko, believing she was an AI once Jeremie awakened her. For a year, Jeremie struggled to materialize her, eventually suceeding. Later, we discover that she is Franz Hopper's daughter and she holds the remaining Key to Lyoko. XANA takes it after luring her to Lyoko, and escapes to "the Network", the Internet. Aelita is left for dead, but is ressurected using almost all of Franz Hopper's strength, and her memories are returned to her. She becomes a normal person, capable of using a weapon on Lyoko and being materialized normally. We know the rest.

I'm pretty sure Odd didn't tell her to say "Canada," because the first time they talked to the principal, Odd said "She's my cousin from Holland."

Honestly, somehow, all the characters look Russian to me due to their new clothes.

I came up with an idea. In my CL universe, XANA has many powers. He perhaps has the power to resurrect the dead at will. Since XANA is in love with Sissi, thus he wants her happy.

Well, the very dysfunctional kids in the gang are Jeremy, Yumi, Odd, Sissi, Nicholas, Aelita, and Ulrich, as they have come from very demanding backgrounds. Look at all of the fanfiction (including Carth's and I's fanfiction) and fanart out there that tells about the history of the individual gang. I mean, the gang includes some of the people who don't know the secret, including Sissi and Nick, but they have to have very demanding backgrounds. Nick isn't all too bright, but he was probably raised in a musical family that lived near a lake, because of his drumming talent (very Neil Peart/Gary Young-like) and his fondness for fishing. Sissi is a jerk and a tattletale because she has been spoiled to the bone! Look at her old outfit! She was like some Eleanor Abernathy-look-alike

Ulrich has a tough dad and Aelita has a caring-yet-paranoid father (that's why I tend to think of Ulrich using the verse, "I tried real hard to have a father, but still I had a dad" from Nirvana's final studio album), so they are a bit crazy. Odd is just...you know, crazy, but Yumi's parents are about, due to the many arguments over the seasons, to divorce. Jeremy is really antisocial, but not around his friends, so you get what I'm hinting, eh? *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

One particular story about Sissi, "The Life and Times of Elisabeth Delmas", shows a retelling of Sissi's past from the POV of Liz and I. What is interesting is that Sissi's parents, Jean-Pierre and Aimee, are both depicted as people who live large, hence Sissi's normal coinceited and spoiled attitude.

Jim's raunchy and bad attitude is also touched upon, as we say that when he was a Kadic student he was bullied and picked on (kinda like the Grinch from the film "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"). He is also a Vietnam War veteran, his commanding officer and best friend being a St. Louis man named Timothy "Tim" Adrain Biggs. Jim was badly injurred with he saved his seregant's life, therefore getting two broken legs and a reason why he wears that Band-Aid. But instead of being overly-authoritative, he is firm-but-sweet, treating the kids as if they were his own children. He loves them and cares about them, and he makes sure they are protected and safe. He also is more sympathetic and far less of a monster. He also is a lot fitter and makes exercising FUN! =D And Suzanne also makes a complete 360 in both attitude and look.

(Oh, and Jim is also Elisabeeth's legal and emotional guardian, having been given the position by Jean-Pierre whewn Sissi came into the world in 1994. He enjoyed taking care of her.)

According to some of the stories, Sissi's experience with the martial art of Pencak Silat is expanded. In them, it's revealed that not only did she take classes, but also learned her skills from none other than Jim when she was young (at kindergarten age). She is dedicated to learning the art, having been taught for 8 years of her life. The other kids have the same amount of skill, however, so that means they are all equal in combat power.

It'd have to be 1992. The show's set in 2004, because Aelita went into Lyoko on June 6, 1994 and it took her 10 years to get out of Lyoko. It may be set in 2005, however, if I'm wrong, but I was just guessing via the statement she said in "Aelita".
