Say Whaaaat!!!...Wow, thats incredible..and yes, 3 years is a relatively short time for all of this to happen in...Their own CHANNEL....whoa. Maybe they wont show CL on CN anymore..maybe they will just show it on their own channel...it makes perfect sense.

CL in Japan, thats awesome...Im glad its catching on in other places...now maybe just maybe they might make it longer than 4 seasons...hopefully.

YES!! I CAN WATCH CL WHEN LIVE IN JAPAN HAHAHAHAHA SDFSDGSDF *ded* Still leaves Avatar, though >>;

That's really lucky, cos I found a Japanese site reviewing CL just a few days ago and I started to translate it, and one thing they said was "...Code Lyoko wa nakanaka tanoshii bangumi desu (CL is a fairly fun TV show)." So :D? There might be problems with Yumi running around in her house with her shoes on but, eh they can fix it.

Yay! Moonscoop's own channel! :D Sweet.

No word of a lie - this new channel (called Kabillion) will broadcast in France AND the USA this year.

And this is all due to the runaway success of our favourite show.

From Antefilms, to this. In three years. That's...just...WOW!

Aww, wow! That's awesome!! I really hope that it comes with my cable package (although, I'll probably be tempted to buy the premium package or whatnot, even if it doesn't ^^; )!! ^.^

Thanks so much for the info, TB3! :D

wartonchan wrote:As for the original topic here, my cousin lives in Hong Kong, and he's recorded the Cantonese episodes, they're so cool!

Well, its kind of like a universal English/French to Chinese thing, where the English/French names are translated into Chinese characters that sounds like the English names!
Character names:
Odd = Ook-kay
Yumi = Yuo-may
Aelita = Ai-le-dat
Einstein = Ou-yuo-see-tan
Franz = Fa-lan
Ulrich's kind of weird = Gee-lon
Sissi = Say-say

:*D From now on, I'm calling Ulrich, "Gee-lon"...that's just too fun and awesome. That goes the same for "Ook-kay". XD

Nice find, wartonchan! :D

I wonder who's voicing the kids and other characters in the Japanese version.

How many dubs in total does that make?

I'd like to hear that.

TB3 wrote:OK, I'm resurrecting a really old thread I know, but I just dug up some new info on Moonscoop's website.

Firstly, and incredibly, Code: Lyoko is going to be aired in Japan!

The reason why this is incredible is because in Japan, out of all the animation that's aired on TV, only 3% of the total is foreign.

For Code: Lyoko to recieve valuable airtime on Japanese networks is tantamount to it's quality.

Also, Moonscoop is branching out - it's purchased a multimedia company called 'Queen Bee' and in 2007 comes the most extraordinary development of all...

MOONSCOOP WILL HAVE IT'S OWN CABLE CHANNEL!

Hey, if anyone gets to do a bit of thread necromancy, it's an admin.

Their own channel? Wow. Just hope they don't show that sad excuse for an F4 cartoon. Not that that matters for us UK'ers. Yet, anyway.

Hope it does well in Japan. When will it be on? And what channel?

Ditto! Ohtani's a great VA! That and I'm a huge Animaniacs fan.

I struggled to think of a Japanese name for Ulrich one day... Ulrika, yes. But not Ulrich. ('Watashi Urika-san desu!' xD *shot for many reasons*) 'Gee-lon' sounds awesome for the Cantonese version though. Don't remember the name being mentioned in either of those clips of Zero Gravity Zone you got, Warton. o.O

If this Moonscoop channel doesn't have A Town Called Panic on it, they may as well boot it off the network. Although I think Nickelodeon UK owns it now... but I miss Cowboy, Indian and Horse. ;__;

JAPANESE CL~ Must see. I should be able to understand it enough with knowledge of the episode and little known Japanese. Heck, I survived watching the first 5 episodes of the Pokemon Diamond&Pearl series.

I know of the Welsh version- Cod Lyoko, isn't it? Fudge 1 of FF.net talked about it a lot in Le Premier Semaine A Kadic's author notes.

TL and I knew about 'Cod Lyoko' a while ago - we actually uploaded one of the Welsh dub episodes, Lloeren (Satellite) to Youtube for people to get a look at - you can find it here.

Is there a website for "Kabillion" yet? And should someone make a Wikipedia article on it?

EDIT:
Furthermore, the group is currently busy launching five kids’ channels with interactive content in France, and in early 2007 will launch a new video-on-demand channel in the USA named Kabillion.

It's going to be broadcast in Japan very soon. CL will be the first series of its kind to be dubbed in that language despite being of European creation.
