Season 4 Discussion (Final Episodes now Online)

I honestly don't see the "Power Rangers" connection here....they're not riding around in zords, they're not wearing helmets and colored uniforms, and they're not making overly elaborate hand signals for no direct reason.

Watch the crappy Power Rangers seasons, watch the action... but... you're so blindly in love with Code Lyoko that you wouldn't see the bad sides of the show. The trailer gives me the Power Rangers feeling.

I think it was mentioned before, but the design for William's sword (and even his outfit) can easily be linked back to other shows and games that existed before Kingdom Hearts (and which were likely borrowed from).

I said Final Fantasy to be one of the ways how William got the sword... Cloud. But Wiliam's uniform gave me the gay KH aura feeling.

Odd's change...But the horns are a turnoff and the uniform design for Odd sucks. His ears sucks too.

The ears... they look like freaking horns!



Another question... what's the price Aelita suffered for earning her white wings? (Google "White wings") J/k.

That's a possibility.

It would make sense, and would allow her to not become a Mary Sue or a Godmoder. Or maybe it's an ability that can only be used for a certain time before it starts draining LP, like in some video games, if you use an ability too long, it starts negatively affecting your character.

But why does it give you a "Power Rangers feeling"? If it's the action, than, if only for my own understanding please explain why the action in CL looks like the action in Power Rangers, as from my own observation they don't look the same (mediums aside), for the reasons I outlined above. I recently watched a newer Power Rangers episode, and I still don't see the connection (again same reasons I posted before).

Now, without blowing all this off as "fangirl-ing", can you tell me why it reminds you of the Power Rangers?

Ah, but you referred to the ears separately in your post. That's why I was confused. You said, "the horns are a turn-off" and then later added that, "his ears suck too". I didn't know you were talking about them as one and the same.


In any case, I think I posted earlier about my hunch that Aelita's wings serve as her "vehicle" of sorts, since judging by the video, she doesn't necessarily virtualize with them (this is speculation of course). This might also mean that they're able to be destroyed in the way the vehicles can...not a lot of fun if she's high off the ground at the time.

But that's just a hunch though. ^^

March 4th? Really? That's... a Sunday... and knowing Miguzi and they way they air CL, I would think that the 5th would be much more appropriate, unless they've suddenly changed their minds and decided to start airing it once a week on Sundays xD;

Wow, the things that can happen while you are settling back into the new semester of college.

I personally like the tralier, and think that season 4 will be awesome. I like yumi's new look a lot more than the concept drawings showed. Animated she looks a lot better. Jeremie must have been saving some things from his bag of tricks, or he has learned an ungodly amount during the end of season 3..... or maybe hopper left him some info, who knows

Odd is well odd, but fitting and more catlike, did anyone notice during the trailer that his fighting style has evolved into what people would call a more "cat like" fighting style

Ulrich's ability to clone duel wielders is pretty cool

I think Aelita's wings are cute, it just adds to the angelic quality that the show tries to give her.

The background shot of jeremie shows him with a more serious expression than ever.

the red city starfight area was pretty awesome.

I also hope that there is a lot more character development throughout this season, if they really are gearing it up to be the last one.

I believe that's it. They realized they flew through the last seasons, with S3 going in less than a month. With the possibly final season, they're going to take it slow. (It's still broken into two halves, right?)

I believe that's it. They realized they flew through the last seasons, with S3 going in less than a month. With the possibly final season, they're going to take it slow. (It's still broken into two halves, right?)

Ah, then I really hope that's the case S3 really did go by too quickly; they replayed it only like one and a half times and I didn't get time to memorize the episode names nd what happens in them D: <s>I'm such a dork xDD</s> And yes I still believe that they're airing them in halves...

Ooh... I forgot to make clear the use of the word children. But most CL viewers are children, contrary to what we think. Literally, for the CL fandom we can spell viewers as children, depending on the situation.

Who thinks the show might get USA-nized (I feel disgust to say Americanized) a bit?

The production staff seems to be claming there is some pressure put on them by the US distributors to reduce the romance and increase the action, but I get the feeling they're doing whatever they feel like.

I think about it in terms of 'censorship' not just a shift between general themes of romance and action. If there were an issue of censorship, would that statue of Romulus and Remus suckling have ever made it to air? Or our personal favorite, naughty XANA tree vines going up shirts. Nah, if they feel they can get away with bringing those images directly to America I seriously doubt there is any oversight on how much theme they can devote toward romance or action.

But then, thats just my interpretation

I was feeling really down, so dispite my 'keep everything a suprise' preferance, I decided to watch the trailer
MakeYourself is like my evil conscience, saying all the bad things I'm thinking but would rather not be..
Also seems I'm not the only one who finds them selves becoming more prophetic as the series goes on. Season 3 and now this trailer made almost everything I started writing about near the start of season 2 redundant!
Anyway, the trailer's pretty much exactally what I would have expected from a preview for an 'action packed' season. Being a trailer music buff, I thought O Fortuna was pretty stereotypical, something from Immediate Music would have been much nicer.
Odd with ears, scares me.. But so does most coarsly anime-esque material..
So anyway, the trailer definatly has that "holy crap that looks awesome" factor, but then again I still get that sometimes watching the old previews that sucked me into Halo 2.. Hopefully I won't be let down this time.

Just a bit off topic here, but do you think that they'll have the Xana theme song for when an episode title comes up in Season 4? For example, after the intro, when the episode title comes up, they could play the Xana theme song to express it!
