I don't want to speak out; I want to thank you for condensing all these theories into one simple post. I was hoping to have enough time one day to read all the posts in this thread, but at least now I can have a general grasp of all the science jargon you've been throwing around. It all sounds feasible; you've probably touched on tangents the creators weren't even contemplating.

*claps* Well done, TB3!

Although I don't think it's safe to call Specters "organisms", do to the fact that they're not alive. How about "energy constructs"?

You brought out some very interesting points, though. Energy being transferred to the Specters and through them to the host through tiny TAP lines... since TAP stands for Temporal Anomaly Passageway and are mainly used to tear rips through the time respect of the S-T Continuum.. why not call them Spatial Anomaly Passageways?

TB3 wrote:In some cases the connection to ZPE space can have even more interesting effects - the routers can create clones of themselves and their target atoms by converting som of the infinte energy of ZPE space to matter - in effect a copy of the subject. However this is pushing the limitations of the routers and the clones can only exist for a limited period.

Wait a minute. How would Energy ---> Matter conversion be possible outside of a Scanner..? :umm:

What is energy?

Energy is pretty much just motion and such. There is no such thing as pure energy. How can energy give someone superpowers? I don't care about other TV shows. That's ridiculous. They exist in different multiverses.

How can energy give someone superpowers?

What superpowers? Well, the ability to move muscles far beyond normal ability... um, I have no idea about how muscles work but I'd rather a more technical explanation than "the energy gives them superpowers".

So, time for this ZPE stuff. Jeremie says:
"I'm gonna send a digital impulse which'll travel at hyperspeed through all the networks and gather huge amounts of energy."

Doesn't sound like ZPE to me. It sounds like, in some way, stray energy in whatever form is being collected by this "impulse".

And it is the key to the Lyoko technology? I assume you mean that the scanning is done with this "pure energy". Again, sounds to me like there's a better way to explain it.

In other words, ZPE is the easy way out. Come on, let's at least have an alternate theory that doesn't require anything that couldn't actually happen someday.

Oh, and I had forgotten about Jim multiplying. So I will add to my theory: The solution for why the time is limited for "triplication" is that that splits the molecules evenly so that none of the groups is able to do most bodily processes. Thus the force fields can do some things but eventually you have to return the body to homeostasis.

^ No, I'm not referring to that theory. Your theories are in general more mature. I just felt like I wanted to say that for the sake of completeness.

and with enough charge, in REAL-WORLD-PHYSICS would open a hole into ZPE space.

Hu? I don't think that anybody has proven that multiple universes even exist, much less how to open a hole into one.

And, if a spectre is a poor man's scanner, why wouldn't Jeremie save himself some hassle and pixelize Odd in one of the scanners?

With respect to everyone else of course :)

Thanks for clearing that up.

Comex-- we're talking pseudo-science and theory here. We know it probably isn't possible. might be possible, or if we applied for the Nobel Peace... wait. Why do I feel like I've said this before...? :P

Hmm.. now that we know that ZPE can create SAP's.. you said they come as a result of the impulses. Wouldn't the STM be necessary to cause the anomalies? Or is "charging" the impulse basically the same thing that does, but on a smaller scale?

> 1. Jeremie has been studying XANA's pixelisation methods
And obviously, due to things like the glow around Odd before he finished being pixelizeed, did much of the work himself. A scanner would be harder to foul up with.
> 2. The safety features on the scanners won't allow tampering with the actual human DNA, only the vDNA code.
*thinks* Aelita's virtualization, Aelita's antivirus, the fact that Jeremie believed XANA-Franz when he said that the DNA had been corrupted... nope, don't think so
> 3. Jeremie is still learning how to make the scanners do other tricks aside from virtualisations (he probably used them to make his Temptation helmet but fiddling with the DNA is far more complex.)
More complex with a spectre, again.

> 4. Any changes to the DNA in the scanners would be permenant until Jeremie could create an 'cure'. This way if something went wrong he can just pull the plug on the router' power supplies.

That's my opinion. It's not that it's a poor man's scanner, it's that the effect is quite different.

> buzzword that means nothing
I think it was suggested in Code Lyoko itself.

<b>Post merge point.</b>

SAP? STM? *cough* More glossaries, please. How can you have infinite energy? That means that you have infinite matter, which is not possible. Infinity doesn't exist.

*sigh* XANA implanted Aelita's virus while she was being CE Materialized-- aka, IN LYOKO. Before she was in the scanner. The anti-virus would in theory be applied the same way, since it's a program that's probably not designed to have a physical form.

He believed XANAFranz because he thought he was the real Franz Hopper, meaning that he thought he knew more about Lyokoan technology than he did. He was probably too blinded in stupor to think about it, anyway.

EDIT:

And how do you know that? The universe it self is infinite..

Hm.. guess it makes sense. We're gonna need to make a seperate file for all these glossary terms eventually, you know ;)

a glossary would be a good idea for people who have not been here for yet or....ah it would just be a good idea. Also the specter theory sounds quite solid now. You guys do alot when Im not here huh? ;)

For the can-it-modify-DNA argument, I need only point out the botched antivirus.

And, guess what, I disagree again ;) I believe that the "return to the past" is actually done, in some strange way, the same way that you can "return to the past" by restoring a backup.

You can only alter the DNA to create vDNA which is sent to Lyoko. Jeremie doesnot have much experience in messing with real DNA. Basically there are two sets of DNA. One of Earth and one for Lyoko. The vDNA is used on Lyoko and the DNA is used on Earth. The vDNA is what gives them their superpowers.

And to your RTTP idea. How can they set a backup if Jeremie has to set the time for the RTTP? That would mean that he would have to record data every second of the day, 365 days a year. And obviously he does not. If you want to have a real RTTP argument figure out how your idea would work and then we can argue about it. I'm not saying you have to agree but if you do and have another idea give evidence on how it would be done. Just some friendly advice. :D

Who said that he has exact control over where the return to the past goes to? He might only be able to choose the day...

"the vDNA is what gives them their superpowers"
*cough* That makes no sense! :D Yes, you could copy the DNA, modify it, and create the vDNA, but... how then was Aelita de-virtualized with (a) different dna than her vDNA and (b) in a while, an antivirus that she certainly didn't have before? How can vDNA give them their superpowers? That's like saying that writing up a description about what sort of superpowers I would have is equivalent to having them.

He DOES have exact control over when they can RTTP to. That's why it's called Temporal Coordinates (this is an actual canon term, now.)

..Ugh.. *massages temples* I don't mean to be rude or anything but why do you have to be contrary and argue everything that we've come up with?

Please check my chart and earlier pages to explain our view on this. (I don't feel like re-typing unnecessarily..)

Ok dude if you are going to argue with everything we have come up with read every single post from the begining of the thread upuntil now. Then argue with Theorys of your own. If you have none of your own dont bother because that is not helping. Sorry to be mean but if you had an idea on how the virtualization or RTTP worked (that is supported by facts and or clips from the show) then we would just talk it out and see who's idea would make the most sense because that has happened before. So come up with a viable theory then start to argue!!! Thank you.

Err.. how about the energy capacitors/the ancillary level? Can't think of anything else right now.

Because I feel like playing the devil's advocate. Or whatever.

So come up with a viable theory then start to argue!!!

Oh, because making up a lot of three letter acronyms makes it viable?

Seriously, people. You say that there is an infinite amount of pure energy in this alternate universe that somehow makes someone superpowered. And then you tell me that that's viable. And that I should come up with a better one before starting to argue............. frankly, I don't believe that this technobabble is actually accomplishing anything since we're mostly just imagining technologies that will never exist.

I honestly think that yours is just as viable as any other, but I think that calling it STA and vDNA and TOA and ZPE makes it such a good theory.

So here are some more questions.

Why is the existence of a parallel universe never mentioned?

How can there be a such thing as vDNA based on DNA, if there are only two senses in Lyoko? (Jeremie in, I think, Code Earth) You'd need a virtual system that more closely emulated the real world for the DNA to be useful.

Why does XANA actually move the controls when possessing vehicles? (No, it couldn't be just so that viewers understood what was going on.) Why does something that gets to 50% in 30 seconds take 30 minutes to get to 100%? Why does Odd suddenly know how to type in SCIPIO on a different screen? Why did XANA only try his awesome trick of using a guardian once?

Why do peoples' voices *sometimes* vibrate when possessed?

Why do possessees leave behind a "ghost image" when they run?

Why do spectres work the same way whether they possess the pixelized person or not?

Why are the possessees (namely, Nicholas) stopped by the factory elevator but not by the door?

Why do people in Lyoko feel pain? Why was it designed that way?

If there was a universe full of infinite energy, why wouldn't Jeremie use the energy to, say, make a computer even super-er than the supercomputer? Why didn't Franz Hopper do that? Why does it still take all night to decode a message?

I can't think of any more questions that aren't stupid, so I'll leave you with that. I can't think of a theory that answers all those questions, but I don't think you can either.
