Give me an exact reason that doesn't involve Ulrich or Yumi and I'll concede, but William actually *is* a good person. He does stupid things a lot, but most of the time he thinks he's just doing what's best, and when he's not around the mentioned pair, he's ok (I cite the scene from Marabounta, was it?). So ner.

Here are my quick thoughts on each of the non-cannon pairings. a note to mention is that I support any pairing if enough evidence is given to support it

YxJ

This one actually has a lot of potential, especially early on in season one. I tend to beleive (basied on the sketch that yumi drew) that she does have feelings for jeremie and that if aelita was not around she would consider it if Ulrich kept dropping the ball. I think in all honesty though that this is more of a sibling relationship and that Jeremie's nervousness was because his "sister" was acting strange toward him. It can be argued that he to may have/ had a crush on Yumi.

OxY

I don't really think this one can work out. Like someone else said, opposites do attract, but I think they are to opposite on thier outlook in life that they would do nothing but argue. Odd and Yumi love each other, but I think that this is only on a friends basis.

OxA

This realationship does have the most crediblity given the two seasons that Code Lyoko has been on. Odd is always the first to rush to Aelita's aide, and he is also the funny guy and makes her laugh. He also calls her "princess," and this passes on to the rest of the gang. If they were to get together though, some logistics would have to be worked out because she is supposed to be his cousin from Canada

I know that many people do not like this pairing, but given the episode where they "computer dated" they seem to have a huge amount of chemistry between them. I also think the teasing is odd's way of expressing a desire for her. I think she also does the same thing even though she is obsessed with ulrich. has a lot of potential

I can already feel the cringe from a lot of YXU fans, but his relationship pairing also has a lot of credibility. Ulrich has kissed her before. Also, there are times he is nice to her, and the fact that he keeps saying he will be nicer to her.


UxA

I really don't think this pairing can work. For one, Ulrich is very shy and the silent strong type. Aelita has shown time and agian that she likes funny guys (Odd) or guys with brains (Jeremie). Not that they aren't friends, but I don't think Ulrich would let Aelita get that close to him.

UxO

I also know that the idea of slash is a turn off for many people and I can understand that, but it doesn't bother me. I don't think Ulrich is gay, but Odd may be a bit or is bisexual. They are also best friends and have an intimate knowledge of each other. The love is there, but it is more of a fraternal then sexual love. I could see this working if written well.

The only reason this works is because it is like the JXY with different body parts. I think this one could work out, but would take some work. not as beliveable as the OXU

The idea of this relationship is very far fetched. I don't think this could really work at all.

I don't think this one is out of the question, but I don't think it is the best pair. Yumi and William are very alike in the way that they conduct themselves and see them selves as the older person everyone "looks" to.

hmm I don't see this one working out very well either, but it does seem like it could since yumi and ulrich keep blowing off sissi and william. this could lead to them spending time and then getting together.

I honestly feel sorry for poor Herb. I think he could potentially be with aelita if jeremie wasn't around and she hung out with him. then again his obession with sissy and his appearence don't do much good for him. Not that aelita is necessarily shallow, but they are all teens.

Nicholas X Y/A/S

Personally, he is so ungifted in anything but music that I doubt either of the girls would find him to be a fine catch. He does look better at least, and may end up finding the right someone, just not with anyone in the gang.

Jim X Yolande/ Ms. Hertz

I think both could work out if say the nurses husband cut off the engagement. Jim has shown affection for both people but I to think he is just a hopeless romantic searching for love.

I think that this could be a very interesting story if well done, because it is not uncommon for students to have crushes on teachers, and the fact that sometimes teachers have acted on these expressed feelings. I think this is a little to adult oriented for lyoko ( as are the slash/ fem slash pairings), but could be well done.

Any gang member or char X an OC.

I am not a big fan for this type of pairing because of the sheer fact that you can make the OC a perfect match for that given character. Of course this to could be appealing if well done, especially for Odd because of his reputation at the end of season 2.

As for the OxU... yeah it was a joke when I said it, but I wouldn't exactly say absolutely not. Even though the dreaded potential for hyperactive slightly perverted female fanfic authors who like to see slash stuff {also known as the deadly breed of "yaoi fans")... they sleep in the same room. I think I'll leave it at that.

I can see a writer going for Aelita's naiveness and Yumi being the older one who can help her out in times of need (I mean that in the cleanest, most non-perverted way possible. lol)

Anyways. SxW... I think I suggested this at UMSD. Anyway, the thing that proves the likeliness for me the most is when they were talking at the pool during Marabounta.

Oh, Skysong-- I personally don't like the way William acts. He's a show off (Tip-Top Shape), a girl-crazy oaf (New Order, Saint Valentine's Day), has a big ego as well as the incapacity to listen to anyone's advice but his own (Attack of the Zombies, but you'd say he was doing what he thought was right in that one. Didn't he realize when people were turning into hordes of the undead by a Pied Piper-esque dog named Kiwi that he obviously wasn't the expert on what was going on, and yet he still refused to hear a word Jeremie had to say?)

Matt Geczy himself hates the idea of Sissi and Odd getting a love life together, which ticks me off to a certain degree. I like the pairing because Odd's got a lot of bravery, and he could protect Sissi from XANA.

*bows* Thank you! I know that many of you here are more long time fans of the show than I am, but I have spent a lot of free time looking at and analyzing the relationships that is for lyoko. I wish it was a little more oriented to my age group, but it is still a wonderful show. I even go and shearch meticuously for french episodes to watch even though I don't understand french, I can still figure out what is going on. I am, however, the only lyoko expert I know of in my small town in NC. But, I have finally convinced one of my friends to give it a try and he is becomming a big fan. and the hearts on the drawing were fine

actually, I wouldn't mind the slash 'ships at all as long as they keep it to a purely "friend" based relationship. Reason I say this is because I have a few relatives who are, for a lack of a better term, homosexual and it doesn't even bother me in the slightest. But I guess this is probably due to the fact that they don't do anything that would make their unique sexual preference "public".

Of course if they tried to write something like that into the show, it would be quite difficult to do because they would have to keep it somewhat private. heck, for all we know, the various slash 'ships could already be going on right under our noses.

I would agree with you on all counts. of course, there are people with alternate sexual lifestyles so yeah.

as for your comment Taelia, I would agree with you as well. they aren't, but some authors have provided evidence for it. the only reason I mentioned that odd could be bi is because I have a friend who acts exactly like that that is and you tend to make judgements baised on your daily life.

I also don't like william that much either. his words are strange and redundant.
