Well, I downloaded it and it's really cool. It's called Terragen, and it's available for free. I just need to figure out how to use all of the advanced features that come with it, and maybe it'll be useful. I can make some really cool terrain, but nothing that looks like any of the four regions. I suppose I could make part of the mountain region, and maybe the polar region if I try really hard. I haven't figured out how to make rocks or trees, so the desert and forest regions are out.
And I need to figure out how to render it as a 3d model, rather than just a 2d bitmap. But it's really great for concept art and creating a basic landscape. Maybe if I could export the original 3d file...
Anyway, enough of my rambling. You guys should really try it, especially those with a talent for 3d modeling.

Also, I'm not sure the blug ins exist, but thats the best landscape tool i can seem to think of. It would be nice if there was a way to incorprate the render preview (or whatevr you want to call it, when you can watch the landscape move in the preview) and use that for the program, but I'm not sure if that is possible.

Yeah, it's definitely very cool. Here are a few pics I made with it (warning: they're 1024x768 pixels, and they're about 2.25 MB each! I'll shrink them down in a bit if I have to):
