Songs that remind you of Code Lyoko....

This topic was made at TvTome before...

A song that reminds me of CL, and more to Ulrich and Yumi is She Will Be Loved from Maroon 5.

Oh I loved this thread!! :D Where to begin, where to begin... ^_^

I always thought "Walkie Talkie Man" by Steriogram would make a great Pop Rock Progressives' song. The same goes for "Memory" by SugarCult, which also can double as a Y/U song. :)

Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" occasionally makes me think of Aelita and her relation to Lyoko. And Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me" makes for a semi-decent J/A song.

"Get Up" by David Guetta makes me think of them battling in Lyoko, and all their previous Lyoko battles.

"One Heart" by Celine Dion is a sweet little song that makes me think of J/A in the first verse and then Y/U in the second. It's a nice little romantic tune for Code Lyoko.

Then there's two French songs I've heard that (when translated) work well for CL. The first one is "La Maison de Disque" by Kinito would make a really cool Pop Rock Progressives' song. And Emmanuel Moire's "Mon Essentiel" is the song I'd love to hear at the series finale (not that I want CL to end anytime soon). The song is very sweet, very beautiful, and just generally nice to listen too. ^_^

There's a whole bunch of songs that make me think of CL. :)

Mewberries, do you listen to Ashlee Simpson, or you heard her song on the radio?

(If you listen to her CD, what's your favorite song?)

I heard that song on the radio (though I've heard a few other songs by her). She's okay by me, but that's pretty much my favorite song from her ("Pieces of Me").

In any case, I don't know if Instrumental songs count but:

"Where the Sky is High" from the first .Hack//Sign soundtrack makes me think of them battling in Lyoko (more specifically running training battles in Lyoko, but I don't know if they really do that ^^; ).

Also "Concerto Pour Une Voix" as performed by Saint Preux makes me think of Aelita, and her Lyoko power when she sings. :D

Yep, instrumental songs count also.... they express feelings or mood or situations, right?

Anyways, songs for CL...

A song that kinda makes me think of Ulrich and Yumi could be "Southern Girl" from the Incubus album: A Crow Left Of The Murder... if you take off the "southern girl" part, then it's all good...

Yay for instrumental songs then! :D

I've got one more in that case. "Come Sit With Me", again from the first .Hack//Sign soundtrack. It makes me think of the kind of moment Jeremie and Aelita could have if they were to meet in someway in Lyoko (I hope Jeremie gets a true virtualization in Season 2). :)

The Fruits Basket opening theme reminds me of Aelita.

Really? I've never been able to associate anything from FB to CL.

it talks about knowing the joy of being born and that things will get better, even if life is hard to bear at the moment. Kind of like how even though she can't be materialized earlier in the series, eventually everything will work out and she will be able to live on Earth.

Maybe I'm just strange though :)

Ah, well that's true.

It's a pretty song, in any case. And I <3 FB... though the manga hardly does the TV show justice IMO.

Really? I prefer the manga, especially to the dubbed anime. I am impressed with how closely the anime follows the manga though, versus most series that end up diverging in one way or the other.

The Difference by Matchbox 20 is a good song for Jeremie at the end of season one.

I've always felt the anime is more... emotional, in a way. The manga makes it look more comedy-oriented... or maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there. (It's been a few months since I've read the manga, in any case.)

For some reason Megadeth makes me think of Jim. XD It seems like something he'd listen to while lifting weights-- and be proud of it. Haha. "See this, kids? I'm young and hip just like you are!"

Odd definitely needs some kind of house or happycore techno. I have a CD called Club Mix '97 that alllllllllways reminds me of him. :P

Radiohead is very Ulrich-ish to me. Listen to some of their stuff and you'll understand.

I can't decide for Yumi. Garbage, perhaps. (But only when angry!Yumi has come to life. Hehe.)

I concur!! House and Techno for Odd! :D Eiffel 65's "Move Your Body" always makes me think of Odd! Especially him with his infamous, "Break Break Break Dance!!!!" :jelly:

I agree with you on that one.

Song for Kiwi: Who Let THe Dogs Out? from Baha Men.
Someone had to say that, don't hit me....

LOL!! XD That's perfect! If they ever have an episode where XANA possesses the town's population of dogs (and there were tons in "Just In Time") I swear that line will pop up somewhere. Probably Odd or Jim would say it (Odd on purpose, Jim...offhandedly, I'd imagine). :D

A really good Lyoko theme song would be "Obsession" by See-Saw...unfortunately, it's already .Hack//Sign's theme song. ^^;

There's two versions of a song called "Heaven" by DJ Sammy also. It comes as both a "techno/dance" mix, and a slower piano version too...if that's the song you mean, that is. :)

'Could I be You' by Matchbox 20 is a good song ofr Aelita. It's a little grim for her, but some of the lines really jump out.

"One Way Or Another" by Blondie reminds me of the "relationship" between Ulrich and Sissi. "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley reminds me of the relationship between Ulrich and Yumi.
