Well I figured that French sites would have more info about CL, so I started checking them up, though then I realized that I only understood about 1/4 of everything I could find (if only I had paid a little more attention to my French teacher).

Looks like Odd keeps his "Shield" power...ah, I miss his "Precognition" power though. ^^

So far as I can tell (with what remedial French I have)...the bulk of the information about seasons 3 and 4 themselves are in the last two paragraphs before the "Extrait de Moonscoop"/"En Bref" box and the screenshots. The other paragraphs before that, from what I could translate either gave a brief history of Lyoko's progress and popularity over it's first two seasons (in the US and in France), as well as confirms what we already know about season 3 being 15 episodes long (with a 30 episode long fourth season) and the air date of the 3rd season for France (September 2006).

The second to last paragraph gives a small summary of what all we learned in "The Key": The truth about Aelita's "virus", her past, XANA's escape from Lyoko, what little we learned about Franz Hopper and a small mentioning of the mysterious Carthage Project (and Waldo Schaeffer...who apparently will be explained eventually, I guess). It then poses new questions such as, where is Franz Hopper now? Can he be freed? Where's XANA and what's he going to do? What happened to Aelita's mother? And who were those "Men is Black"? The paragraph ends with the hope that the advances made in the both the CG and 2D animation will please viewers and that the special care taken to the plot (and it's progress) will be satisfactory.

The last paragraph is where we get info on the prequel explaining how the group met, how they found the Factory and how they met Aelita, as well as their first adventure. It is now a final decision that the prequel will be played as 2 twenty minute episodes, which will run with season 3. This decision was made for the sake of making the prequel easy to air (as an episode as opposed to needing to program a space for an hour long specia) and would also be easier to include on a seasonal DVD (this I find slightly bogus..."specials" sell better, I would think...but oh, well ^^).

Now this paragraph ends on a very intriguing note. It is mentioned that the Panini Sticker Book sold in France contained a small blurb about the Prequel. The book, roughly translated, contained this sum-up:

"Our 4 heros meet eachother at Kadic Academy and quickly become friends. They discover and reactivate by accident a supercomputer which, in effect, reactivates Lyoko, a virtual world. After discovering the scanners, our heros prepare for their first dive into Lyoko and meet a young virtual girl."

So...this means...if this is to be taken as a spoiler of sorts, that the group found the Factory by accident and that the SuperComputer had been "shut off" in a sense before they found it and accidentally reactivated.

This of course amuses me to know end as I can picture precisely how that would work:

SO YES. This is amazing. I hope season 3 is a rather informative one, since it's short, with LOTS OF BACKSTORY YAY! I believe that if I want to write believeable fics I need lots and lots of backstory. dhgosdg.

And judging by the pictures... the animation seems a LOT better. Crisper, too. Lesse, the first picture is Yumi doing a one handed handstand thingy. Maybe she gained the supercool ablitiy to walk on air. Then there's Ulrich in the middle. He seems to have gained Jesus power. Then there's Odd, whose face is all covered up cause of the shield D:!! Now that I look at it, all their faces aren't very clear... MAYBE THEY'RE HIDING SOMETHING?!
