LyokoCode has recently linked up to the gallery website of Lead Background Painter, Frederic Perrin.
On his website are two full pages of gorgeous CL background art. Among these are classic season 1 backgrounds like the Scanner room, the Elevator, and Kadic's colonnade, as well as season 2 specific backgrounds like the snowy landscapes from "Cold War" and the forest and cliff scenes from "Vertigo".
Each and every one of them is absolutely beautiful, and by looking at the backgrounds (without the characters in them), one can really get a sense of how much detail and hard work goes into making this show. I was really blown away both at how great these paintings are on their own, in addition to how talented this artist is.

Anyway, I figured we could use this thread to discuss CL art in general, whether it be background art, the animation itself, or even concept art (if any more surfaces other than the GK concept art). I figure this thread will be useful particularly if the upcoming season 1 box set has lots of storyboard and other 2D art extras on it.

Well...they are the ones that created them (at least in terms of anime and Code Lyoko). Technically (and fairly), they ought to get them first.
