Of note as well were the bits of info availible at the exhibition: i.e in Garage Kids Ulrich was 'Ulrick', and that the characters were developed from the personalities of the creators - apparently there's a lot of GK Creator Tania Palumbo in Yumi.
Of equal worth is concept art of the original four sectors showing them as lusher, richer and more detailed (I doubt they were ever animated that way) - curiously they are all labelled Garage Kids, implying that title may have been used until quite late in the production.
Most interesting for me though, is the inspiration for some of the sectors - according to the exhibition, the Forest sector was inspired by forests of Hayao Miyazaki's anime masterpiece 'Princess Mononoke'.
More surprisingly though was that the Mountain Sector is based off Disney! Specifically the movie of 'Mulan', as well as some 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon'.
Here's some shots I found of each:
The Forests of Miyazaki, inspiration for our beloved Forest
(interestingly this adds credibility to the fan-theory that Delmas's design is a nod to Miyazaki)
The mountains of Mulan - note the very familar shapes and the way they are shrouded in mist - why didn't we notice this before!?

The Region used for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - I swear we saw a mountain like this in last night's episode
