Season Three?!

MIPCOM NEWS: French toon producer/distributor MoonScoop has announced production of a further 45 episodes of hit animation series Code Lyoko for Cartoon Network.
Due in September 2006, season three will be accompanied by a major merchandising campaign to cover a broad range of licensed products, including toys, clothes, stationary, school bags and a Code Lyoko game on the Nintendo DS platform.

Moonscoop has signed FUNimation Entertainment as the exclusive licensing agent in the US, with Marvel Toys holding the worldwide master toy licence. The latest deal with Cartoon Network gives the series a total of 97 episodes.

I only knew this was coming...think about it, they introduce a great new story line, and what next....a load of useless one shot episodes. What happened to franz hopper, or his notes...or even getting rid of the anti virus? We've even played the "who is XANA going to control today?" and Im fed up with it.

None the less, CL is still by far one of my favorite shows. All I ask is to keep consistant with what is going on with it. You cant just give us bread one day, and the next go back to the crumbs.

Does this extend into a Season 4, or have they changed their format? Doesn't seem logical after two whole seasons...

You can probably split that at least in half. So CL's good for Seson's 3 AND 4.

Well, Code Lyoko is more popular now than ever. During Season 1 I mention something related to CL at my school, no one cares. Now, I mention something about CL at my school, everyone comments.

No one that I know of really likes code lyoko (at least not of my grade (11th)). In fact, not many people I know watch anime at all, very few.

And it looks like an action figure to me (and much better than the previous "Aelita" fan made action figure). Where'd you find that picture?

Anyway on the 45 episodes, sometimes season episode numbers fluctuate, so perhaps they're just shooting for more episodes this time around. Perhaps a few of them are three-parters and the like with a "To Be Continued", where it's technically an episode in it's own right, but the plotline has yet to see itself through. If they're going to go into more complex plots and storylines, they may have to do that.

But I'm all for agreement on waiting and seeing. We've got till next September, and there's plenty of season 2 episodes for us to see first. ^_^

I have another theory... the 45 could be a mistake, it might actually be 54. This would allow for two seasons plus two "extra"; one could be the prequel we already know about, and they could be planning another special.

I hope Moonscoop and Antefilms have good luck with that for the Code Lyoko show. Other animated shows did that path and well...
