XANA's motives

Why does XANA have a grude againest the world? Why is he going the way of Skynet from Terminator and the machines from the Matrix?

Another theory is that he was purposfully programmed to destory the world by the *uhum* excentric franz hopper.

But that seems to be ruled out becuase this is a kids show, and such deep thoughts such as Alsheimers desiese is pretty much ruled out. The skynet theory is really good, but maybe it just wants to enslave the world, not destroy it. If you ask why it may want to do this ask why wanted to do the same thing. I dunno. Any more ideas?

It may be a kids show...but its audience is still around the 13+ range. As for a theory on why XANA is bent on crazy ****...we'll find out before S2 ends.

I always thought it was just overzealous overprotectiveness... but that's just me.
(If I ever use two words like that together again, please, shoot me.)

In other words, I think he's just trying to protect Lyoko/himself; as a computer, it's likely he has no concept of "collateral damage".
