From The Code Lyoko Season 2 Outro...

When Season 1 episodes ended, the outro was just mere CL images of the group and the bridge that leads to the factory, as well as the credits.

But on Season 2, we get to see a Confidential folder, plus photos from Franz Hopper's past... but there's one thing that calls my attention at the begining of Season 2's outro.

And that would be the name next to the Confidential word: Waldo Schaffer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong with the last name.

This name has called my attention, since I've recently got to see Season 2 on Jetix. Is this Waldo person vinculated to Franz Hopper and to the creation of Lyoko, or to the french military service? I'm wondering about it.

Any ideas, guys? I'm asking you since you have watched much more Cl than I have...

I noticed that as well. I concur, he is probably some kind of PI, or perhaps someone more closely tied in with Franz Hopper.

I would think it would be someone related to the government. The seal on the folder was the same seal that was brought up when Jeremie looked up the purpose of the military satellite in Satellite. So yeah, I would definately say he's a government agent, which ties into what Xana let out in Franz Hopper.

Although, I would like to know what is the importance of the year 1994. In the file, there was a strip of photos that seemed to come from a photo booth like the one in False start, which wasn't shown in the clip, and on the back was 1994, Oh well, give it time, give it time.

Nice observation skills, man! I never would've thought of that... so, Mr. Schaeffer is a government agent (Police Judiciare.. I -knew- it!) investigating Project Carthage and the "Hopper" case. Hmm.

Now what if the whole Lyoko project was something illegal or for war purposes or it could have been as a bunker?

The 1994 year data... I guess Hopper got trapped into Lyoko that year, he died or maybe that year was the last Waldo has heard something from Franz.

It could have been something illegal that the government was looking into, it does coincide with what Xana let out in Franz Hopper. In Franz Hopper, Xana said that he was created to counter a military project, though that could mean any military project in any country, not just France. Also they had an entire file on everyone who worked on the project including personal information like what looks to be Hopper's wife being pregnant, so for such intelligence, wonder why they would allow it to continue or even exist with that much info to shut it down if it was created illegally with possible terrorist connections?

Definately seems like it can be used for war purposes. Xana would be the most advanced weapon on Earth, capable of inflicting mass destruction with the use of limited resources, save for its nuclear core and the system that makes up Xana. What other weapon can turn a teddy bear into Godzilla, control weather, can make any and all technology it comes into contact deadly? Would render all military weapons useless, since he can easily control them and turn it back on his opponents. And Xana did say it was used to counter a military project. That sounds like a war purpose to me.

Though the factory itself makes a poor bunker. Its a fairly large target that can be accesed through multiple points and atleast 3 ways to get to the lab that are fairly easy to figure out. They have the freight elevator, if thats broken, they can climb down the shaft, and there is a passage to the lab from the boiler room that leads to a ladder. The structure itself won't stand up to any major military strike. In Cruel Dillemma, all it took was 2 bulldozers to cause potential collapse of the lab. A missile or a lot of carpet bombing will absolutely demolish it.

The factory... if Hopper were on Earth after 1994, he and the ones pulling off the Lyoko project might have turned it into a bunker. But the factory is more like some abandoned place, and a good hideout for the Lyoko stuff, untill you track it down with some spy satellite.

But if you say Xana is some advanced weapon, then who triggers it? Hopper from Lyoko? And how is Xana triggered? I hardly think Xana lost control of itself, like the Marabounta project Jeremie did. Something triggers Xana...

We don't really know. Atleast not until we get some more background, though a super intelligent computer going on a rampage by itself is not really a new concept. It has appeared in a few sci-fi books I've read and HAL from 2001: A Space Odessey, and has been spoofed in multiple series. All I have stated is merely conjecture. I believe he is a anti-military project since Xana has stated so in Franz Hopper, though that could be a lie. And obviously, he can be used as a weapon, given the potential for mass destruction he is capable of. But again, this is all guess work, so nothing I really say, or type in this case, has any real standing. Its just all an exercise in thought.

The Carthage Project picture has 1974 on it, the 1994 is on the back of another picture (I think it's the film strip of Hopper outside the Hermitage, but I'm not sure).

Thanks for posting those pictures, Darkborn, I've never managed to get a good look at that woman before.
