People with few posts

i have noticed that people with few posts make the check mark shine in the main menu,but when people check it,there is the topic they posted on with a blue check and last time i checked,that meant it had no new posts.Sometimes the check in the main menu doesn't even go bright at all!

Is this so people don't notice noobs?Or a simple mistake?

People with 1000's of posts make the check in that topic flash and go gold.Noobs just raise the topic to the top.I just want to know if this is a mistake,or if this is purposely happening.

Flashing checks are a sign of a popular topic with five plus pages. If anyone replies to a topic, it will go to the top and the check will go gold until you have read it. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

Maybe it's something with my computer but, I only ever see gold check marks when there is a new post. Nothing flashing.

look at the veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery bottom and their should be a key about the arrows

Depending on your firewalls or anti-spyware programs, the checks may or may not flash. For example...when I have all of my security on, the checks either remain on the solid color...or stay at the "flash" point (where they're just white). I am not quite sure why this is though. ^^;

Topics should turn Gold at five plus pages regardless though.

They only go gold with new replies are posted for me. Other than that, the check is blue.

I'm behind some pretty heavy firewalls and security systems so I just get solid colour - no pretty flashing effects.

hmmm i am also behind a good firewall plus restrictions (bridgwater county councils firewall)

i still get all the flashing effects though
