Wake up to my mum on the phone and she's like "there was a terrorist attack" and I'm out of bad faster than you can say bumblejackeatingyourcrackoutsobadly. All day I've been following it.
Weird thing is, my mum and I were just talking about terrorist attacks the other day...Scary.

I hate the feeling it brings, like it's not safe anywhere. It really is terrifying.

speaking like that is what the terrorists want, to cause fear, they dont hit military targets, they hit civilians, we should show them they cannot conquer us with fear

Bloody hell, London got attacked... I haven't even watched the news yet, but not the UK isn't safe ;__; , last year Spain (the train accident), now the world's getting violent. I'm lucky terrorists (or anyone else) hasn't attacked south America yet.

its all in retaliation to iraq, but it suits president bush perfectly, takes the focus off global warming, and aid to africa [both of which he opposes] and brings the focus on terrorism, and an excuse to bomb people

well i soppose when the coalition forces went into iraq and killed hundreds of inocent iraqis we could expect vengence, although easily more people have been killed in the east than the west by terrorism [not counting 9/11]

Islam supports more than peace....unlike it's brother, Judaism, Islam also supports the search for knowledge, among other themes forbidden by the grandpappy of Catholic religion

I almost cried when I saw that on the news. Why do we all have to hate each other like this? *shakes head* Too many lives lost... and for what? Where are we getting with all of this? For every day we spend hating each other, we could be saving lives in Iraq and in every other country in the world to build a better tomorrow.

"Building a better tomorrow" and such are the focus of two important events going on now: the G8 summit, and the Live 8 concert series. G8 is where the leaders of top countries meet to discuss plans of action against things in our world (terror, poverty, etc.), and Live 8 is a concert series sponsored by the world governments (UN?) to help end poverty.

Anyway, Star, I know how you feel... but we bounce back. We always have, we always will. Stocks have shot up, oil prices fell over a dollar a barrel yesterday... we're recovering. The UK will do it more slowly than the rest of the world, and we will never forget, but we try to get back to normal.

I know. But this is just the beginning of 'bouncing back', and it's going to take a very long time to be where we want to be (if we get there at all).

No matter what happens, there will always be pain and suffering in the world. But we should be finding ways to help those problems go away instead of creating more problems. >_<

Ain't that the truth. But it's the same reason that Karl Marx's (sp?) views on communism fell through: Someone always wants what they don't have, so they either try to take it, or they attack the party in question until they submit. Capitalism is, in some respects, the same way. It's why we have police, fire, and paramedics: Someone always wants something that isn't theirs, and they tend to take it by force.

Not perfect for the purpose, but country music fans ought to look for "Hey Mr. President" by the Warren Brothers... patriotic song that kinda fits. :music:

Very true...

And anyway, even if we didn't have terrorism, there would be other problems anyway. This world can't be perfect.

I doubt anyone can comprehend a perfect world, there will always be something out of balance, and if you fix that, then it moves something else out of place
