Have you seen Shin Chan? It is a show that is on Adult Swim about the wacky antic of this 5-year-old and his family.

Talk about it here.

It's another "reversioning" project by a US anime studio. The script was rewritten for Americans and is much dirtier than its Japanese original was. Adult Swim showed another one of these, Milk-chan. Unlike Milk-chan, the US version of Shin-chan makes sense. It gets me to laugh out loud occasionally, which is a hard thing to do.

It's all very scientifical. |D

Milk Chan was just dumb..because it didnt really go anywhere..but Shin Chan is pretty funny. Dirty it may be...but its not like outright nasty or anything. It will go alot further than Milk Chan did.

The thing is, Isaw the Japanese Milik-chan, and I know how much it got ruined in English. Sure, lots of Japanese specific jokes probably wouldn't work in English, but the show had plot at least in Japanese. Shin-chan's reversioning was just ramping up what was already there, which is why it worked better.
