Michael Jackson is dead.

Postby Carth » Thu Jun 25, 2009 6:32 pm

I can't find any news sites that say anything other than the fact that he had a heart attack and slipped into a coma, but my local TV news just reported that Michael Jackson has died of said heart attack and coma. He was 50 years old.

I really don't know how to react to this. On the one hand, we lost the "King of Pop". On the other hand, we lost one of the strangest people of our generation, to make an understatement of it... Your thoughts?

Edit: Here's a report, but as the news is so new, it's somewhat sparse. http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/0 ... index.html

I was just coming to report on this. Two beloved pop icons in one day. May they rest in peace.

Man, Mike was only fifty. And now he's dead. Damn.

I liked the Jackson 5 songs... haven't heard so much of the other stuff.

The strange people are the saddest to lose, really.

That's an okay song... but come on, he had much better songs than that,

RIP, Michael. You'll be missed.

At the moment, I'm watching his performance at Superbowl '93.

Michael Jackson breaks the internet:

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/06/26/michael.jackson.internet/index.html

"Irony: The protesters in Iran using twitter as com are unable to get online because of all the posts of 'Michael Jackson RIP.' Well done."

Lol.

I was just on iTunes, and as of June 27th, 1:12 PM, 9 of the 10 "Top Ten Albums" are from Michael Jackson. Looking at the Top 100 albums, Michael Jackson continues to dominate that list.
