If you bought it online you overpaid, however supporting local game stores is ALWAYS a worthwhile endeavor.

A Coraline game? Well, the movie sure was great...

Anyhoo, yeah, I bought the CL game at a game store, so I guess I did a noble deed. And, y'know, it's really not bad. Considering the subject matter and the sheer simplicity of the settings (so far I've been in the Desert Sector and Sector 5, otherwise known as the Land of Brown Flatness Far as the Eye Can See and the Magical Kingdom of Identical Blue Rectangular Prisms), the transition into game form was very easy.

Also, they got all the characters' mannerisms just right, which is good. And they use a lot of stock footage from the show, but no complaints there, because the games's graphics already look like the CGI from the show anyway, and it adds to the feeling that you're watching / playing an interactive episode of CL.

The "Drawing Contest" baffles the mind, though.

Coraline as a book and movie was WONDERFUL.

The game was just... not fun

Yeah, I can agree with you. The Desert Sector is just plain, and Sector 5 is... boxy. They did reuse animation from the show, but they've been doing that for a really long time, so no surprise there. However, the new movies specifically made for the game are pretty good. Except for the one involving the <s>lag</s> Volcano Sector, in the beginning.

Wow, I haven't played this game in a long time! And I'm not even finished with it or anything...

Also, controlling Ulrich is hard. He doesn't respond to my very manly arm-flailing when I want him to use his swords.

You need to try harder.

Why try harder when Odd, Yumi, and Aelita are so much more effective?

Due to this problem, I just use Ulrich when it's absolutely necessary.

I do agree with you with the case of Yumi, as her fans are awesome. Odd is the second-best, and Aelita is also pretty good, but when I use him, I find no problem with Ulrich.

Ulrich is a joke against anything quicker than him.

Odd shoots a popgun

Yumi is alright

Aelita has a hadoken.

Yay?

Well, I'm enjoying the game nonetheless. Not that I've played since last time...

Apparently, there's a volcano sector. I still need to get to that.
